CAS Mix Up August Challenge

The CAS Mix Up Challenge for August is

Stencil Monoprint.....

Hosted by the wonderfully talented Nancy.....

The design team and our fabulous guest designer Cathy from Cathy's Card Spot
have wonderful inspiration for you over on the blog.
There are video's links too, to inspire you further......

This is my card....

I have used Brusho's with the stencil, stamping and my choice is heat embossing
I sprinkled different shades of Brusho's through the stencil
and sprayed with water to activate them.
The sentiment and the grasses have been stamped with grey archival ink.
The butterfly has been heat embossed with white
and the rectangle layer edged with gold heat embossing.

I flipped the stencil over, whilst it was still wet and this is my other card....
Not CAS but artsy and it's great to get two cards from the one technique.
The sentiment was stamped in black first and then gold heat embossed on top,
which produces a subtle effect, so much so it looks very dark in the photo!
The Monoprint challenge is a fun one, which produces unique effects.
Pop across and admire the fabulous cards from the design team and the wonderful Cathy.

I am looking forward to seeing your wonderful creativity in the gallery.
Thank you so much for popping in...And I'm Loving my background Loll xxx

Rainbow Anchor....

My card today was inspired by...........
The CAS Watercolour Challenge, which is Rainbow.
Watercooler Wednesday Challenge , which is Masculine theme
Fusion Challenge, great photo inspiration and a theme of Harbour

This is my Card.....

The Anchor is a die cut and I have used Brusho's activated by water.

This was not the first attempt........
I found it incredibly hard to use all the colours of the rainbow on this small die cut
and not to get 'muddy' colours.
I tried the brusho's on a large card and then die cutting the anchor
but kept missing colours so for me the only way to do it was actually on the Anchor itself.

I finished off with layering the anchor, stamping the rope in grey
and doing lots of dots with a toothpick.

And then it happened.....
I use Brusho's a lot and knew if I sprayed them with anything they would re-activate.
I wanted a little shine...So I thought a gloss varnish would not re-activate them..
It did!
Still happy that you can still see all the colours of the rainbow
but I felt all my hard work slightly diluted...literally.
Always learning and loving it x

Thank you for stopping by, it means a lot to me x

Chill.......

Hope all is well with you?
It's been awhile but here is today's card....
I love joining in the CAS Watercolour Challenge and their theme this month is...
It's not that I have not been thinking what to do all month but where does time go?
I was inspired by the colours over at Inspired By All The Little Things....
The glorious copper and the beautiful aqua
I needed a Masculine Birthday card....
I have used Brusho's for the background as my watercolour.
I die cut the Man silhouette to use as a stencil.
I mixed translucent paste with dark pigment powders to pop through the stencil.
As they where Lindy powders and often contain 'other' colours
it looks like the man has a tie, squiffy around his neck!

The stencil work on the left has been done with coloured paste,
copper paste and copper embossing powder.
I finished off with stamping and heat embossing the sentiment in copper.
I enjoyed the using the techniques on this card
and challenging myself with the two challenges.
Thank you so much for finding time to stop by....

Hello.......

Today's tag was inspired by a colour challenge
I played with a couple of stencils, translucent paste
and Brusho's for the background.
The sea horses have been stamped and water-coloured
with zigs and hi-lighted with mica powders.
The shell has been stamped and sprinkled with Bistre powders.
The sand is paste, micro beads and coloured with Lindy powders.
The coral has been die cut from several colours of Brusho card.
The ribbon has also been coloured with Brusho's.
I had such fun playing with techniques and enjoyed making my tag.
I had a chuckle after I had finished, looking at the stenciled anchor,
which looks like it is heading for the seahorse's head!!!!
Thank you for finding the time to stop by...I always appreciate it x

Sending Love.......

Playing with Brusho's.....
Today's Card...
I have used the Stamplorations Two Blooms Stencil ....
I had to put on removable glue, as well as masking tape
to hold the stencil down, as it is so fine in places, for this technique.
I was concerned water would migrate underneath.

The stencil was then sprinkled with several shades of Brusho's
and sprayed with water.
The removal was a little tricky because of the glue etc
but I had to remove it as quick as I could.
I was really please as there was not much water seepage
and the colours blended so well.
Ironically there was no loose specks from the brusho's ...which is rare for me....
What did I do then?....free-hand splattered in ink!
I popped on this photo to show the reverse image...
I will be playing with this technique again x
Thank you for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Colour Mixing.....

Fun day today making this project....
I started my project by...........
Sprinkling a few shades of brusho's over the poppy seed stencil and
activating them by scraping clear embossing paste over the stencil.
The background has been done using sprays and brusho's.
I have also stamped text and a gold frame around the edges using media stamps and gold ink.
The circles are stencils, white gesso and gold paint.
To achieve the the orange and green features I mixed pastes in a few shades, spread
over white gesso and a stencil.
I finished off with stamping the sentiment, popping it up onto foam and a few gold splats.
I loved the colours, the gold and how the red/orange poppy seeds worked out.
I had fun and got messy too.

Aged 5....

Today's card is for a family member who is shortly having his 5th birthday....
I was inspired by ...
I was inspired by the Red Aeroplane and the blue sky
This is my card....
The background has been done using Brusho's and water.
After stamping the boy I coloured in the red plane and popped on glossy accents.
The number 5 has been die cut, coloured, in laid and glossy accents added.
I stamped the boy flyer so that his trousers would be 'coloured' in with the brown Brusho's.
I finished off with glossy accents on his goggles and stamping the sentiment three times.
Thanks for finding time to stop by...

Hello Sunshine.....

Mixed Media card today....
I was inspired by The Mixed Media Challenge
Cards only...Sunshine with the option of bricks
Update....My card was hi-lighted at The Mixed Media Card Challenge-Thank you very much
This is my card......
I started with Brusho's on the background.
The brick wall and the sun have been done with a stencil
and embossing paste first to give some dimension.
The sun has been coloured with yellow acrylic paint and
the wall, also with acrylic paints and then hi-lighted with copper mica powder.
I stenciled the cloud with white puffy paint...Great fun dimension.
The flowers have been stamped and white heat embossed.
I used water and kitchen towel to take off the Brusho's from inside the flower.
They have been coloured with acrylic paint and then finished off with glossy accents.
The hello sentiment is stamped and raised up on foam
and the Sunshine sentiment cut out of foam twice.
I have had a fun crafty day .....

Nature....

Inspired by a couple of challenges....here's today's card....
I was a top 3 with this card at IndigoBlu-Thank you very much x
I had a fun day playing with different mediums, card stock, sprays and powders.
IndigoBlu challenge is Yellow, Pink and Green so that inspired me to use those colours.
Happy Little Stampers has a Case The Card challenge, so that inspired my layout, idea and design.
I reversed where I wanted to put in the colours.
That's what is so great about CASEing a card and the inspiration...
where it starts and where it ends up!

I have water coloured the flowers using Zig Pens..
The background has been done with Brusho's, Lindy's Magical powders and text stamp.
I stamped the flower stamps first and then did the background around it..
Normally I do it the other way around but loving trying out new things.
Thank you for stopping by...

at STAMPlorations ......
for their Sketch and Theme Challenge this month.

The Design Team is fabulous and always come up with the
most original, creative and stunning inspiration.
STAMPlorations have a very active Blog, if you've time pop across and take a look....
They also have great challenges, incorporating lots of different crafting styles.

Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to Guest with you this month.
Use The Sketch and....or The Theme
This is my card....
I have flipped the sketch and also went with the Stamp and Splatters Theme.
I started by stenciling the feather (feathers and arrows-Large stencil)
with clear embossing paste and clear micro beads.
The butterflies form The Wings Things stamp set have been stamped
and heat embossed with white EP.
I have used Brusho's and water for the background around the butterflies.
The butterflies have been painted with acrylic paint and Brusho's.
The splats are also Brusho's.
The sentiment from Bold Sentiments and the edges from Mixed Media Elements
have been stamped and heat embossed with white EP.

In real life the card looks quite wispy and artsy..I think the photo looks a little messy!
I learnt lots making the card, had fun and I thank you once again for the opportunity.
