PaperArtsy Re-Inker Topic....

For the past two weeks PaperArtsy have had a topic of Re-Inkers
and I have really enjoyed the posts and being wonderfully inspired....
My Notebook Cover today has been inspired by the topic....

This is my Notebook cover.....
I so enjoyed mixing the medias and sure did learn lots along the way....

Two colours of Re-inkers were used for the background......
I put a couple of drops onto the mat and swept the card through until I was happy.

I next used the Re-inkers to stamp with, around the edges of the inked card.
The cute mini text has been stamped in plum archival.
The main stamping was stamped and heat embossed in white embossing powder.
The Re-inkers were then mixed with white and translucent embossing pastes for two different effects.
I loved how one was matt and textural and the other one shiny and translucent.
I used all four of them through a stencil.

I tried lots of different techniques this past week with the Re-inkers......
I was intrigued how different the two examples on the left look using exactly the same ink colours
but on different card stock, one matt and one gloss.......
I also tried the Re-inkers and shaving foam, which was a lot of fun........
I also tried the technique through a stencil and got some fabulous and unique effects.
Using a Pigment Re-inker and a roller I spread the ink onto an acrylic block
and rolled it over an embossing folder.
The top left is just laying a card over the ink, on the embossing folder and rubbing it.
The top right is popping the card into the inked embossing folder and embossing it.
The bottom two are the same but using the other side of the folder.

I coloured the ribbon with the left over ink on my acrylic block.
I also used the Re-inkers to colour directly with, to hi-light a little on the flower heads and leaves.
Finishing off with stamping the word sentiments, some white splats and white doodling.
Most of the time my Re-inkers just live in my cupboard, unused,
as I don' think to use them for anything else.......

I had so much fun, learnt lots and got messy this week and loved it.....
I loved exploring new ways to using the Re-inkers.
I would love to enter teh following challenges....

Water coloured Trees.....

Inspired by The CAS Watercolour Challenge to make today's card...

The theme is Tree.....

The background was stamped with some Grey trees and then the fun...
Using my trusty Misti and Distress Markers to colour and stamp the trees.
Sometimes individual colours and sometimes not.....
Sometimes lightly misting with water and sometimes not.....
Learning all the time how much to use and maybe drying in between or not.....
Again this was not my first attempt!
The stamp for the bare trees in the foreground where too wide and not tall enough
so I masked them to make them skinny and then added further height
and branches using an archival ink pen.

Finishing off with stamping the deer and the sentiment,
adding snow to the branches and the tree trunks with a white pen.
The Challenge over at The CAS Mix Up  is Ink your stamps with markers...
I used traditional stamping too and my choice is water colouring....the snow and sky.
Way out of my comfort zone and I loved it.

Thank you for stopping by ...... I really do appreciate it x.

Joy......

Today's card is inspired by
the Challenge at CAS Christmas with the theme of Wreath....
I started by inking up the scribbly circle stamp with three shades of browns.
Next came the sprigs and the leaves with three different stamps
and three different green inks.
Finishing off with stamping the poinsettia in red and adding a small amount of bling.
The J and the Y have been die cut and edged with the green and browns.
It's one of those CAS cards that now I know the shades of inks
and the stamps required that I could make up quite quickly but at the time
.....not so much x.
I so enjoyed making this card
and grateful to the challenge to give me the kick start that I needed x.

Hello and Sending Hugs ....

Thinking about my blog friends and the weather around the world x

Stunned and delighted to have been chosen as Pinworthy
from The Vintage Journey Challenge-Thank you so very much x
Thrilled to be amongst the wonderful winners and HM's....Thank you x

Inspired by the Twofer Challenge to make these two cards..

The theme is Leaves.....

Using the same stamp or die and make two cards for two different occasions.
I have used the leaf stamp...One card to say Hello
and the other one to send hugs to a special friend.

First card......

I had fun layering the card with stamping, masking and partial die cutting.
Lots of shades of inks, which I inked up in the Misti and stamped individual colours onto the leaf stamp until I was happy...No water, just inks.
The partial die cutting was tricky and lets just say this was not my first card.
Finishing off with heat embossing brown and copper embossing powders.

Second card......

This time I used distress markers and water to ink up my leaf stamp.
One colour at a time....And then lightly spritzed to blend all the colours.
You loose the detail of the stamp but gain in other ways.....
After it was all dry I masked around the square and then blended the green ink
and splattered with red/orange inks.
The small die cut heart has distress glitter on it, which I have never used
and I liked it, in that it wasn't too blingy for this card.
Finishing off with stamping the sentiment in green.

I shall be popping my second card into The CAS Mix Up Challenge , just for fun.
I have inked up my stamp with distress markers, stamped and my choice is splats and blending.
I loved making the two cards and had fun with the techniques.
Both challenges are open until the 24th and the galleries are looking fabulous.

CAS Mix Up September Reminder Post

It's that time again for The CAS Mix Up Reminder post

Bonnie is hosting and Chrissie is our wonderful guest designer.
This months challenge is inking up your stamps with markers.
There are video links over on the blog for further inspiration.....

This is my card

I have used Distress Markers and one Zig Marker to ink up the stamp,
lightly misting with water and using my stamping platform. I did this a few times.
Finishing off with adding some freehand detail,
stamping the butterfly and sentiment and splats using white gesso.
I originally stamped the oxoxox sentiment at the bottom left hand side,
but didn't like it so I went over it with white heat embossing.
Thank goodness for the stamping platform. In real life it looks OK x.
I enjoyed this fun technique and hope to see your creativity in the gallery x.

Love and Hugs....

I have been away on a very relaxing holiday.........
I wanted to share this with you because when I was away I managed
to keep on top of commenting, which I love,
even though I had very slow, frustrating and very intermittent internet.
I was so pleased with myself......
Since I've got back I am playing catch up!!
That's because there's the washing, ironing, shopping etc to be done!!

So here's today's card.....

I was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this sketch for the layout.
I rotated and did a horizontal card.
I masked and stamped the individual flower stamps
and lightly washed the background ones in grey.
Using my Zigs I water coloured the main flower and also hand embellished with a gold pen.
Finishing off with die cut frames, stamping the sentiment in grey
and heat embossing the butterfly in white.

Whilst I was away my dear blog friend Nancy helped me out
and I would like to say again, a Big Thank you for your time and thoughtfulness....x.

CAS Mix Up September Challenge

The Cas Mix Up Challenge for September is ....

Ink up your Stamps with Markers.

Bonnie is our host this month.
Chrissie from Simply One of A Kind is our wonderful guest designer.
I hope to see you in the gallery this month with this fun challenge.

This is my card........

I have used Distress inks to ink my sentiment stamp, stamping
and my choice is heat embossing and die cutting.
I started by using the markers to ink up the large sentiment stamp
and lightly spraying with water before stamping.
After it had dried I clear embossed with several layers of clear embossing powder.
I then completely sprayed the card with flat black ink.....
Lindy's are usually shimmery but I wanted a matt black one on my card.
Using several cotton buds I removed the ink, that had beaded on top
of the clear embossing sentiment.
I had never tried this before and it worked really well.
I finished off with die cutting and water colouring the flower die with the same distress markers.

I had fun with inking the stamp with the markers and then spraying with the black ....
There are video links for more inspiration on the blog
and fabulous inspiration from the rest of the team and Chrissie.
Hope to see you in the gallery x.
