Butterflies and A Happy Hello

Twofer challenge this month is Butterflies and these are my cards......
I used the same Butterfly stamp on both of my different occasions cards.
The 'Beautiful You' card is a Birthday card and the other one a 'Happy Hello'....
I have used stencilling, stamping, fussy cutting, heat embossing, mica paints
and smooshing on my Birthday card.
I have used distress inks and oxides activated and smooshed with water, stamping, heat embossing, vellum, fussy cutting, stencilling and die cutting for my Hello card .....
Combining the burlap distress inks and oxides produced some unexpected and fabulous colours.
The butterflies were stamped and heat embossed onto vellum.
Lots of dimension, texture and elements on the background....
I so enjoyed making two different designs, for two different occasions
and using the same butterfly stamp.....I used the small butterfly stamp on both of my cards.
Thank you all so much for your very kind and friendly comments about my MIL Betty,
in my last post........They are so gratefully received.
Please take care out there.....
Challenges I would love to enter....

A card for Betty.....

CAS Mix Up challenge this month is Stencil Tracing,
which inspired me, to make my card for my Mother In Law.....Betty.
She is in a care home, with alzheimer's and tested positive for Covid
but was Asymptomatic and had no systems.....x.

We didn't worry any less, especially as we couldn't visit.
Thankfully she is now free of the virus and so is the care home, in which she lives.
I don't normally share personal information on my blog, so I hope you don't mind....

This is her card....

I used two stencils, one for the background and one for the rose one on top.
I wanted the background stencilling to show through the rose....
After blending the pinks and the greens I outlined the rose with a silver pen.
This made a huge difference and I am loving the technique Nancy....
I finished off with die cutting two of the edges with a deckle edge and hi-lighting them in silver.
The CAS Mix Up Blog has tons of inspiration, using this fun and effective technique...
Thank you so much for stopping by.....

Flower Challenge Guest Designer

I was thrilled to be asked by Viv, Daizy Mae Designs,
to guest design this month for The Flower Challenge.......
The theme this month is Summer/Winter....Depending on where you live....

This is my card.....

I used Lindy Sprays for the background and stencilling with white pigment ink.
I also used a stencil for the Summer flowers....On the card itself
and on a separate piece of card,
so that I could fussy cut out some of the petals.
Acrylic paint and paste was used for the flowers and a little stickles for bling.
The extra layer of petals added the texture and dimension that I was looking for.
Finishing off with the Summery sentiment and a black frame.

I thought the flower in the top right ended up looking like the Sun and it's rays,
which luckily fitted in with the Summer theme!......

The amazing and talented Design team over at The Flower Challenge
will 'Wow' you with their creations............

Thank you so much for the honour of guesting with you this month.
I looked forward to  seeing your Summer/Winter themed flower cards in the gallery.....
