My card today was inspired by...........
The CAS Watercolour Challenge, which is Rainbow.
Watercooler Wednesday Challenge , which is Masculine theme
Fusion Challenge, great photo inspiration and a theme of Harbour
This is my Card.....
The Anchor is a die cut and I have used Brusho's activated by water.
This was not the first attempt........
I found it incredibly hard to use all the colours of the rainbow on this small die cut
and not to get 'muddy' colours.
I tried the brusho's on a large card and then die cutting the anchor
but kept missing colours so for me the only way to do it was actually on the Anchor itself.
I finished off with layering the anchor, stamping the rope in grey
and doing lots of dots with a toothpick.
And then it happened.....
I use Brusho's a lot and knew if I sprayed them with anything they would re-activate.
I wanted a little shine...So I thought a gloss varnish would not re-activate them..
Still happy that you can still see all the colours of the rainbow
but I felt all my hard work slightly diluted...literally.
Always learning and loving it x
Thank you for stopping by, it means a lot to me x
I have a family member who has recently retired from being a 'Boat' Pilot
and also had this in mind when I made this masculine card
Challenges I would love to enter....

Thrilled to be chosen as a rocker with my card - Thank you

Fusion Challenge - Great inspirational photo and a theme of Harbour
This is gorgeous Mac. So beautifully CAS but the splash of colour on the anchor really makes an impact. I love using Brushos too but they can blend to a muddy colour, usually when your almost at the point of getting your work exactly where you want it. It was a good idea to add the gloss as it looks fabulous. Wishing you a colourful week. Crafty hugs, Sandra x
I love the look mf...beautiful way to interpret our theme this month!!
Thanks so much for playing along with the CAS Watercolour Challenge!
Gorgeous masculine card, Mac! Your final attempt with the Brushes worked incredibly and I don’t see the gloss ruining anything. Love the design with the faux embossed sentiment running down the side. Love this! xx
Fab card,Mac.Love the colorful anchor.Well done.
Whatever you did, the result is absolutely beautiful, love how you have done the anchor with the "dots" around it, love the birthday so subtle and the rope it all blends so well, your family member will be delighted with this. If he isn't - give him a kick from me LOL
Wonderful card Mac, love the anchor and the rainbow colours, super CAS design, Kate x
Apart from the fact that your CAS nautical card looks fantastic, I really like how all the elements came together to combine the sketch challenges. Wonderful. I really like the dotting you did around the anchor as it's like a rainbow of bubbles surrounding it and the rope at the bottom seems to pull it all together. The die for the birthday is wonderful too! Thanks for sharing at the Masculine "Anything Goes" Watercooler Wednesday challenge this week.
Fabulous card Mac, love the anchor and wonderful colours.

You have done an amazing job doing a rainbow with the Brushos Mac! They are so hard to control! It looks so perfect with that amazing rope and subtle birthday die and the little dots are amazing! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour!
This is such a cool design, Mac! Coloring the anchor with Brusho's was worth your time and effort, wasn't it? It's so vibrant and beautiful!
I love the shadow you made with dots, and I was wondering how you did that - using a toothpick. How clever you are and effective the results are! Hideko xx
Certainly worth your efforts, Mac! What a cool card & perfect for your relative!
AMAZING design Mac!! I LOVE that rainbow anchor. The dots really add so much detail. And the design is perfect with everything else in white. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour! xx
The rainbow effect looks fabulous!
Oh your card is beautiful... even with the diluting problem... Pat gave me a box of Busho which I've yet to try and I will take on board (excuse the pun) what you said... Thanks for that! Have a lovely day my friend!
Simply beautiful Brushos rainbow colored anchor. Love all your white space and texture from your die cuts and dry embossed border. TFS Mac and joining us at CAS Watercolour. Hugs
Wow, just wow! This is an amazing card! Your anchor is beautiful and the tone-on-tone sentiment die adds just the right amount of interest without detracting from that anchor. Again, just wow! Thanks so much for joining us at Fusion.
Gorgeous card, Mac!!!!!!!!!!
I remind you that you are a winner of my 1st Blogaversary candy.
Please send me your address to email@example.com to be able to send your gift. Kisses, my friend.
Such control with your Brushos, I'm so impressed! Actually, I'm impressed on many levels - your card is a perfect candidate for each one of those challenges, and your dotting detail is impeccable! Such a fantastic card, Mac!
Yes, I am not surprised that you are the author of this great card. I love how you used colored powders. This anchor is amazing. I imagine how difficult it was to get all the pure colors of the rainbow. You have succeeded and I am very impressed with your skills. I also love how you added sentiment. White lettering with an additional dimension looks so beautiful.
I would never have known if you didn't mention it. I've had this problem before and still don't know of a good solution... But the result is incredible! I love the way you made the shadow, so so cool! Hugs, Autumn
Really fabulous, the lettering and water colored anchor is a prefect masculine design.
Wow another amazing card here Mac! you always make such fabulous cards ;) Viv xx
Hello my friend! I have missed you and your gorgeous creations!! WOW! Love the effect with the brushos!! It really pops on your design! Wanted to let you know that I have a new blog started up and would love it if you stopped by when you get time!! Sending hugs and hoping all is well with you! :)
What awesome coloring on your anchor Mac! you wouldn't know it was diluted looking at this photo - and I just LOVE all the little dots you placed around it - and the tone on tone die cut birthday - a gorgeous card! Julia xx
You are amazing, you have an unique approach in all of your creations and this one is no exception. Love all the white for that beautiful anchor. ...who would have thought of making an anchor BEAUTIFUL hahaha.
Elegant and colourful, Mac, love it xx
long time since I have visited your blog and what a lot you have done, super nice cards love the summer look you gave this card with the anchor
Testing again x
Beautiful, fabulous card!!!!
I find it hard not to avoid 'mixing' the brusho colors as I have a tendency to spray too close to the piece. I have to force myself to keep the sprayer a good distance away. But I do like the marbled effects the closer sprays give too. This anchor is a beautiful mix of rainbow colors, so you did great with it. I love how you've used it on a CAS card, and that pale rope is such a wonderful finish to a beautiful card. Good job! (I learn just as much by mistakes - my own and others) as I do by the things that work well. TFS & Hugs
(I've tried on my last post to do the X comment to notify. I'm afraid it is only going to notify the person who makes the comment - my own tests came to me, but I don't know if somebody else leaving a comment will make it come into my email. If this works for you, I hope you can let me know. I'm only seeing email followup comments to ME - not you)
A happy accident which looks fabulous. Love your dedication with the toothpick. Hope you get this as an email notification. Hugs Mrs A.
Hi Mac, thanks for your two lovely comments, glad they were of 'help' to you as well re the re sizing and first comment I make to get my emails...hugs.xx[aussie aNNie blog]
I love this rainbow anchor. You really did a great job using all the colors and you achieved great results from the Brushos. Using the toothpick was a great idea.
Oh Mac this is gorgeous and you have managed to get all the rainbow colours in beautifully, and what a great idea to add the little dots with a toothpick, and the white on white greeting is perfect and love the soft grey for the rope below. x
Rainbow colors always work, no matter what! But I would have never guessed they look so great on an anchor! The rainbow "Shadow" is brilliant!
