Sending Love

I have been playing with watercolours and came up with this card.....

The Flower Challenge this month is pretty pastels and
Color Hues challenge is Pink and green.
Both Challenges influenced my colours and tones this month.

After stamping I watercoloured the flowers and then fussy cut them out.
Some of the leaves where stamped onto the card
and some where cut out using the co-ordinating die.

After all the effort I wasn't sure about the splats but I just went for it!

Thank you for stopping by my blog, I really do appreciate it.
Sending love and hugs to all that need it...I so miss hugging!

Thank You....

This card took me out of my comfort zone with water colouring.....
I am so thankful for challenges to inspire me to give it a go....

This is my 'Off The Edge' Card.....

The flowers have been stamped and heat embossed with platinum embossing powder
and then coloured with Lindy's magicals, activated with water.
I shaded them  a little further with a coloured pencil.

The background stencilling has been done with silver acrylic paint.
I used the matching die to make my 'Off The Edge' Card.
Finishing with triple embossing the swirly die cut sentiment.

CAS Mix Up challenge is Water colouring and 'Off The Edge'
AAA CAS cards is 'Along The Edge'
The flower Challenge is 'Use a Sentiment'
I would love to join  in with my card....

CAS Mix Up July Reminder Post

Time for the reminder post for the CAS Mix Up Challenge

Fabulous inspiration in the gallery......
Such creative cards from the wonderful design team
and our guest designer Susan from The catsinkcorporated.
Pop across and take a look.....

This is my card......

I have coloured my die cuts with lots of different colours of Lindy Magicals and water.
I have stamped the sentiments and my choice is free hand drawing and water colouring.
You can see the shimmer of the Lindy Magicals in this picture.
I love how you get unpredictable colours.
Even though the die cuts are small I kept going until I got an artsy and wild looking effect.
The stems have been drawn in with a dipping pen and distress stains.
The sentiments have been stamped with the help of the Misti.
I die cut the poppies and then snipped the heads to use as I wanted
and individually coloured the small die cuts.

I have a designer paper that gave me the inspiration for the layout of my card,
as of course I am never going to cut it up x.

Thank you for stopping by
and I am looking forward to seeing your fabulous creations in the gallery.

Colouring Die Cuts

The Paper Players are celebrating their 400th blog challenge and I wanted to join in the fun...
Their challenges are always fun and the team is hugely creative and inspiring.

This is my card.....

For the background.......
I sprayed my white card stock with Lindy sprays in brown and copper.
The flower bouquet has been masked, stamped and heat embossed with copper.
The hidden die cut birthday sentiment was raised slightly with foam.

 For the Die Cut Butterfly......
I loosely sketched the shape of the butterfly onto the die cut.
Using a pipette I dropped in three shades of the Lindy's and
drying in between so that I would NOT get a blended effect.

Using coloured pva glue I traced the shape of the butterfly, first with gold
and then hi-lighting in bronze. Whilst still wet I used a toothpick to get shapes and to blend.
The Lindys and the heat embossing is all shiny
and the pva glues are subtle, which has added a lovely contrast and texture.
I haven't used them in years, so much so I had to use a pliers to get them unblocked.

The CAS Mix Up Challenge is using die cuts but my card isn't CAS enough to add it to the gallery but the challenge has given me the inspiration and confidence to do more with colouring die cuts.

The die cut sentiment, from PTI was gifted to me for winning a challenge, with these cards
by the kind, humorous and extremely talented Darnell....Thank you so much x

I had a fun and crafty few days making this card....
Thank you so much for finding time to stop by, I really do appreciate it.

The Voice Of The Sea

I have been having fun, water colouring and layer embossing powders...

Here's Today's Card......

I started by masking off the water colour card and using several Lindy powders,
activated by water for the Ocean.
The bling from them is so pretty.
I then had lots of fun layering and heating embossing powders on a craft mat
and my pancake maker....This ensures the powders don't fly everywhere.
Once the molten powders where cold,
I gentle peeled off the bits to create the texture on my card.

This is a great way to use all those embossing powders that I have stashed away...
I used blingy powders, which created a wonderful and unique effect.
The ship and the sentiment have been stamped
and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
I finished off with water colouring the ship with shades of grey.

I had so much fun doing this card and as a technique girl learnt lots along the way.

The CAS Watercolour Challenge this month is Ocean and
The CAS Mix Up Challenge is layering of embossing powders
so I combined both of the challenges....my choice is water colouring
I would like to say a big Thank You to Loll
from Stamping with Loll for kindly designing my watermark for me.
What a friendly and generous blog community we have....x
Thank you so much for stopping by I really do appreciate your time...

Guest Designer for Twofer Challenge....

I was thrilled to be The' Unconventional Winner' at The Twofer Challenge
with these two cards for the month of March.
As a result I was kindly invited to guest design this month.

I am lucky enough to be sharing the guest designing with the wonderful Linda
from Life In The Craft Lane, so pop across and be inspired.

The Twofer challenge for May is Butterflies
and I wanted to try and do something a little unconventional with my butterflies.
I have used the same die cut Butterfly on both of the cards......

These are my two cards...........

You must use the same stamp or die to make two different designs for two different occasions
and if the occasions are not clear, it would be good to state them in your post.....

My First Card..........

I die cut the butterfly lots of times,
water coloured with Lindy powders, activated with water
and then cut the butterfly in half, omitting the body part...ouch....
The flower stem and sentiment have been stamped
and I have used washi tape down the right hand side.
I finished off with gold paint around the edges.

My Second Card, which is an encouragement card......

I cut a pointed shoe shape out of thick grey board.
Popped it on my pancake maker for constant heat and used clear UTEE,
black and platinum embossing powder for a layering effect.
I also used frantage glass glitter and mica bits.
I used a cocktail stick to achieve the effect I wanted on the shoe and on the butterfly.
For the skin of the foot I used acrylic paints.
Finishing off with stamping and heat embossing  the strong and encouraging sentiment ,
which I thought went well with the bold shoe image.
I had so much fun making these two cards.

There was some debate after finishing my shoe card...
To my mind it is a shoe
To my DH the butterfly is a necklace, over a black top/dress
or
Is it a lady in a white jacket, with a black shirt underneath
I would love to know what you initially saw when looking at this card
Thank you x

Please Pop across to The Twofer Challange and be inspired by
the wonderful and creative design team.....And..... to join in this fun Challenge.
Thank you Darnell for inviting me to guest with you this month...
