Foiling and Christmas Greenery

Happy Thanksgiving day to my American Blog friends....

I was inspired by two challenges to make today's Foiled Christmas card.....
PaperArtsy's challenge this fortnight has been Foiling....
Tons of inspiration to be had, from very creative crafters over on the blog.
I have enjoyed learning different ways to use foiling and I am enjoying the posts.
CAS Watercolour  challenge this month is Christmas Florals and/or Greenery,
which inspired me to make a Christmas CAS card.

The gold frame has been die cut several times to add dimension .
I crumpled up the foil first to add a little vintage look to it, before adhering it
to the frame, with a double sided sticky sheet, which I also die cut.

The foliage in the background has been stamped onto the card base
and the holly in the foreground die cut and water coloured.
I used the die cut shown and snipped into it for the holly.

I finished off with some white acrylic splats, little red novo drops for berries
and stamping the sentiment in black ink.
The die cut holly and the gold foiled frame has added depth and dimension
and I so enjoyed making the card.
Thank you for finding time to stop by
and for all your kind comments, which I really appreciate.
Challenges I would love to enter.....

Great idea to snip the holly out of that die - never thought of that, and it definitely gives more use to it. Love the gold foiling - such a gorgeous addition to the greenery. And a great combination of stamped and watercoloured elements!

Gorgeous card with amazing dimension, Mac! Love that you gave the gold foil frame a vintage look and that you made the holly out of the tri-window holly die-cuts. Layering the die-cut holly over the stamped holly is a brilliant idea. And with all these elements, you made the card CAS.

STUNNING card Mac! LOVE the gorgoues shine from your foiled antique frame. Crumpling the sheet adds lots of creases and "age" to your design. So cool and creative, my friend! Speaking of that ... great way to stretch the use of that holly die with using snippets for your foliage. LOVE this card! xx

Wow, Mac ... so gorgeously eyecatching ... love how you crumpled the foil to add the sense of antiqued texture to the frame! The berried holly branch looks as though it's woven it's way through the spaces ... and what a great sense of dimension you've created with the background stamping! It's magical and kind of Narnia-like! Hugs, Anita :)

This gold foiling is beautiful Mac and love the watercoloured holly die cuts you have added over the top of the stamped pine branches. I have some foil but so far have not been very successful in using it so must go and take a look at the blog to get some ideas on 'how to'. This is a gorgeous card. x
