When is a Tree not a Tree...

The Twofer Challenge this month is Trees....

You are to make two different cards using the same stamp or die for two different occasions.

These are my cards.....

I used a tree die for both cards.
One is a Thank you card and the other Just a Note....

The first card is made from an alcohol inked background,
in shades of greens and browns to represent 'Trees and the Forest'
I did a little manipulation of the die cut tree .......
One of them is in gold and the other in the alcohol inked background.
Some of the fall-outs are in gold and the others in the original background.
I finished off with stamping the sentiment in gold and then white to give a little 3D effect.
The layout of the second card was inspired by the sketch over at CAS(E) the sketch...
The card uses the same die cut tree, cut four times and made into a bow.
I have had the embossing borders for ever and never used them,
so I started by dry embossing with one of them on the black card stock.
I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in gold and
finished off by popping on the gold bow.

I had fun with both of these cards and thinking out of the box a little.
Thank you so much for stopping by, I really do appreciate it.

These are the embossing borders.........
The Challenge I would like to enter both my my cards into......

The Challenge I would like to enter with my first card, with the trees and alcohol inks....
The tree dies is by Poppystmaps

The Challenge I would like to enter with my second black card with the bow....

Haha, you funny, Max, saying you were thinking out of the box a "little!" You think FAR outside the box and every time your creations are spectacular!! This month's Twofers are no exception! I love the earthy greens and golds and browns of your forestry thank you card! And I love the way you impressed and filled the die cuts and executed the sediment! And then...turning the tree into a cold filigreed bow just simply defies adjectives! SWOON says it all!! Thank you so much for joining in Twofer Card Challenge #6! Hugs, Darnell

Both of these are just awesome. Love the 'forest shades' of the background and how clever to see these fab leaf dies as trees. Even MORE clever to see one as a lovely gold bow. You've thought 'out-of-the box' in such a creative fashion to make 2 just gorgeously designed cards! Way to go! TFS & Hugs.

Such a clever idea Mac and the leaf shape lends itself beautifully to being folded into a bow, and the gold against the black is so dramatic, also love the mixture of colours in the alcohol ink background, with the gold leaves die cut and inset into the background which looks great. x

Just when is a tree not a tree? When you get amazing ideas and created a simple bow and trees and manipulate with your dies. So very clever M. Truly love that AI background and the gold shimmer to back it. Super Duper trees.
How awesome is that gold bow! That embossed background really is an oldie! I have them too and forgot all about them. Sad. Great choice of black card base. Two more stunning pieces here.
Can't wait to see what next you play with. So full of inspiration. Thank You for sharing your talent with us all. HUGS.
