CAS Bouquet

Two very dear blog friends have had their milestones birthday this month....
Bonnie and Darnell .....Which I am sure need no introduction x.
CAS Watercolour have had a celebration this month of their 'Special' Birthdays.
This is my card for the two very special ladies............
The theme is Bouquet.
This bouquet stamp is a very old unused stamp, which comes in two sizes....This is the smaller one.
The background is water coloured in several different shades of pink Lindy Magicals.
The shimmer from the magicals look so pretty.
The bouquet has been stamped and then using bleach to lift the colours.
I have used pencils to colour the bouquet and leaves.
I wanted to end by saying that I am in awe of you CAS perfectionist out there.
This card was incredibly hard for me....
My heart is in techniques but that doesn't mean I can't do CAS but CAS properly,
well that is a different thing.....
I found it incredibly hard to contain my design and also hard to colour etc....
What surprised me was that I loved this card......And I hope you do too? x
It took me two weeks to do and for my friendly and special blog friends it was sure worth it x
Challenges I would love to enter.......
AAA Challenge - One Image without the optional twist
Simply Less is More - Small Images
CASology - Shimmer
Uniko - Flowers
AAA Birthday - One For The Girls

I'm with you, Mac! I admire proficient CAS artists. It is way above me that they are able to create so beautifully. However, this card is amazing! The pink ombre look, and the detail in your watercolor bouquet is gorgeous. I'm grateful this beauty is no longer a virgin in your stash. It's really beautiful - and how nice that it comes in two sizes! Thanks for sharing! hugs, de

This is lovely. I've probably said this before but I think that making a CAS card is really hard to complete and look finished and this is perfect. Happy creative week, Angela xXx

This is awesome, Mac, and it holds a special place in my heart! You do CAS beautifully and your talents are so amazing! Love, love, love these white flowers on the soft, shimmery pink background! And all that white space make them even more beautiful! Thanks so much, my friend, for helping to celebrate our birthdays at CAS Watercolour! xoxo

These two ladies are fabulous ladies indeed! I so love your CAS card Mac, it is so beautiful. The background is stunning and show cases those flowers so well, they just pop off the background. I love the way you colored the green leaves and stems and you blew me away with the bleach and lifting the color. Loll did too. lol I know back in the day we used bleach to stamp with, but I'm not sure we ever lifted color. You did this CAS card really well Mac!! No doubt about that! I love CAS cards but find them hard to do too, and I don't do them well. Once in a blue moon I will get a really good one, but doesn't happen often. lol Hugs, Brenda

What a triumph this card is, I absolutely love it. It is definitely CAS perfection, I love how you have used bleach to remove colour rather than add more. It has worked so well. the little die with the bow finishes it off brilliantly xx

I do love it and I love your technique cards too! Once upon a time I did all layered and vintage but I adored CAS and I too found it very hard to achieve so I understand you! Hope you are staying cool?

This really is CAS PERFECTION, Mac!! Love the gorgeous pink background ... bet it look incredible with the sparkle. The roses bleached and then colours with pencils is amazing work. You have really brought them to life. xx

I don't know how I missed this Mac - it didn't appear on my reading list (I hate Blogger) and only spotted it when I was having a nosey in the CAS gallery!
This is simply a fabulous example of CAS - beautiful! x

This is such a lovely CAS birthday card for Bonnie and Darnell, Mac! The light pink Lindy Magical background is so pretty (and I'm sure it's shimmery) and the bleaching technique worked wonderfully to color the bouquet with penciles. The white roses look so delicate and feminine against the soft watercolored background. And I love the beautiful wide white space around the center piece. It was sure worth two weeks!! :-)

Beautifully done & wonderfully CAS! Wouldn't know it was hard for you, but must admit it doesn't look like a Mac card--haha! I do love it, though & it's fun to do something different--right?!

We would never know Mac as you always create CAS like a breeze, you know how I struggle to create on one layer. It's a beautiful image worth the love and attention you have given it over the past couple of weeks. A wonderful piece, now it's time to try it with the larger image ;)
Thank you for sharing it's beauty.
Creative Hugs Tracey xx

Hello friend! :) I think you're too hard on yourself here because I think your take on the CAS style is really amazing especially with the different techniques that you were able to add into it! Love the idea of the bleached florals and your pencil coloring is fabulous! Thank you for sharing! It's great to see your blog again and just be able to sit down and enjoy! HUGS

I'm right with you - my admiration of a CAS creator knows no bounds, but that polished perfection always seems to elude me. But I think you've achieved it here - the subtle shimmer of the pink, the delicate white blooms, and all that simple white space to frame it all - gorgeous!

While I believe it took awhile (always takes me awhile to come up with a viable card), I simply disagree that you don't do CAS! It's wonderful!

What beautiful flowers Mac and I love the white roses with the soft pink background and the pretty inset frame has lots of impact. Like you I find it very difficult to leave the white space that CAS demands and have to be really strict with myself, but you have tackled this perfectly. x

Darnell said...

Sorry to be so late commenting, Mac. My company is gone and I'm back from a week in the Midwest with my sisters, so I'm finally and slowly catching up! I've left this post in my inbox to thank you for the very special post and beautiful bleached bouquet you made to help Bonnie and me celebrate our 70th birthdays! It is well and truly appreciated! I think you did a brilliant job designing a CASlicious card, which I know is way outside your comfort zone! I'm so glad you like it because it's stunning! You have all it takes to create CAS designs should the mood (or a challenge) strike you again!! Love and hugs, Darnell
