Find Beauty in Chaos.....

I am Super excited and Thrilled to be the guest designer at The Craft Stamper
with The Take It Make it Challenge this month....
It is always anything goes, so long as there is some stamping....
The Design Team always provide amazing inspiration.

This is my Creation for the front of my A5 sketchbook......

I had so much fun with lots of stamping, alcohol inks, acetate, my newly found light box
and a mapping pen and white acrylic paint.....
I started by loosely stamping the flower onto scratch paper.
Popped acetate over it and applied around 8 shades of alcohol inks.
I turned over the acetate and then used my mapping pen
and white calligraphy ink and white acrylic paint on the other side.
I used splat stamps, crackle stamps and text stamps on white card stock.
Using the acetate overlay helped with the placement of the stamping....
I did the same with the back of my A5 sketch book....
I could have always just stamped and heat embossed in white but.....
My acetate was not heat resistant and I wanted to try out the technique
of using my mapping pen on the thinner lines and
white acrylic paint in a bottle for the thicker lines.
I always enjoy trying out new techniques to me.
I had so much fun and using acetate and my newly found light box certainly helped.
There is always so much inspiration and creativity over at The Craft Stamper blog....
Thank you once again for the opportunity to guest with you this month x.
Challenges I would love to enter......
Watercooler Wednesday - Kath's Feminine Anything Goes Challenge
Thank you for the being your Rock Star this week
Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Anything goes without the Option for me
I have used the Poppy Time Stamp from Penny Black on the front of my sketchbook

Many many congratulations on winning over at Craft Stamper and being GD this time...so well deserved! I absolutely adore these poppies on the front and the back of your sketchbook, and the white outlines with the alcohol inks behind is a great idea. It looks as though you have used some gilding flakes around the edge of the front piece too which looks so pretty. I have seen this sort of technique on pinterest and have recently bought a white Posca pen so will try some doodling over a random AI background but I'm sure it will not turn out to be as beautiful as your wonderfully creative piece. x

Susan said...

Huge congratulations, Mac, on winning the TIMI challenge - so well deserved as I love that card! It will be wonderful to see you Guest Designing for Craft Stamper!

Loll said...

I wish I could be there in person to see you make this Mac. STUNNING is not a strong enough word to describe your font and back panels for your sketch book. Gorgeous, gorgeous designs. And so cool to have the light box and be able to sketch your outlines yourself. The AI colours are so bold and beautiful. Congrats on being Guest Designer at Craft Stamper Magazine ... your work is inspired! xx

Huge congrats you clever clever lady, these are amazing and I love how you have shared two with colour comparison. The mapping pen is a fabulous tool and light boxes are so much better than they used to be, I remember always having to change the bulb in mine as it would pop each time I turned it on.
A fabulous tutorial full of tips and technique. Amazing as ever.
Sunday Hugs Tracey xx
P.S Sorry if I have skipped or missed any previous creations, i'm yet again chasing my tail but so glad I stopped for a moment to catch my breath here today xx

Many congratulations on a superb guest spot for Craft Stamper. The technique with the different applications of white line work sounds intricate, but is so effective. The vivid alcohol ink colours are fabulous in both variations- beautiful work.
Alison xi, we've now switched to Monday as our day off, so any day other than that would be fine for bedding change. But from Tuesday the working day changes to 12 noon - 9.30pm (and 11.30pm some days, and always around 11pm from the week after when previews start), so preferably not the mornings! But other than that, whenever works for you. Many thanks, and hope you have a great weekend.

The spring thing can also refer to the early part of the year, when it seems that winter will never leave - so it can also have that quality of longing and yearning in it... that might be the Scottish version!
