CAS Mix Up January Challenge Reminder

Half way through the month already and time for some inspiration
on this month's challenge of  The Bokeh Effect.
The wonderful Nancy is hosting the fun challenge.
For more information, video's and inspiration from the Design Team,
Thank you to Viv from Viv's visuals for being our fabulous Guest Designer this month.
Here is My Card.......
I have used the Bokeh Technique, Stamping and my choice is Blending and Heat Embossing.
I started by stamping the foliage and the thistles.
I then sponged several different colours of  green distress inks and left it to dry.
Using a circle stencil and sponging, with white pigment ink, to do the Bokeh effect.
The sentiment has been stamped and heat embossed onto vellum.
Finishing off with hi-lighting in white and a pop of gold for the thistle heads.

The gallery is looking fabulous.......
The challenge is open until the 24th.......

As I used a stencil and sponging I shall be popping my card into the new
CAS Stencil Challenge, which started this month by the Lovely Loll.
Come and join in the fun.....
Challenges I would love to enter....
CAS Stencil Challenge using sponging and keeping it CAS
Craft Stamper Challenge, Take it Make it, which is always anything goes so long as you have used some stamping
Delighted to have won The Take It Make It Challenge with my card.....Thank you x

Beautiful!! I have been seeing Bokeh all over blogland and have not had the chance to dig in to see how it was achieved but reading your explanation makes it crystal clear!!

Beautiful card! Like Loll, I love the greens you used. I also really like the pop of gold. It is a stunning touch both on your sentiment and for your thistle heads. : )

When we were little we used to make mice from the dried head of thistle weeds. I wish I had a picture of one. They were funny and cute but oh so pokey on little fingers!!

Have a great day my friend. : )

Hi Nancy.....
The foliage stamp set behind the thistle's is from Rubber Dance...I use it a lot and it's so useful...
https://www.rubberdance.de/big-sheets/weed-love/#cc-m-product-13969665333

The Little thistles are from Inkylicious (UK company) and is called Moonlight Foliage...I love the small scale of the thistle too...
I have just checked on their site and it is out of stock (and it had gone to half price!!!)
It's an older stamp set from 2010 so that maybe why.

Thanks for asking my friend x

Mac, your bokeh technique is so perfect for this scene..it brings me right back to summer and the glorious effect of sunshine.!! Something we are anxiously awaiting here in AK. Today, Jan 16th is the official day for us to see the sun where I live. But I was not home to see it!! and it was cloudy:(
