CAS Mix Up December Challenge

The theme for December is Emboss Resist....

Lots of scope for this fun technique.

The challenge is hosted by the wonderful Loll.
For more information and video links please pop over to the CAS Mix Up Blog.....

Please Note .....

The challenge will run  until December 15th to provide two weeks off for the Design Team......
Winning post will be on December 18th.....Thank you x

Here is my card.....

I have used Stamping, the resist Emboss Technique and my choice is Water colouring and die cutting.
I started by stamping the seahorse, using distress markers and the Misti quite a few times.
Once it was dry I stamped it with Versafine and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.
I touched it up with a Versafine pen to preserve the white parts of the seahorse and heated it again.
I then had fun with Lindy powders and water and blowing through a straw.
I was quite light headed when I finished!
I do have a puffer but I wanted a little more control over the splats....
The bubbles have been die cut and some white Frantage to finish.

The technique worked really well with this intricate stamp,
as it gave me a really good emboss resist.
It allowed me to use lots of water and  no leakage into the stamped and coloured seahorse
and it preserved the white inside the seahorse.

Pop across to the CAS Mix Up blog for fabulous inspiration from my team mates
and BozenA (Artbox) our very talented guest designer.
Say Hello too to the amazing Hideko (Papercraft Boutique),
who is joining the team this month........
Have fun with the challenge and I am looking forward to seeing your
wonderful creations in the gallery.
Challenges I would love to enter.....

What a wonderful combination of the magnificent stamped & heat-embossed seahorse and the dynamic Lindy's splats, Mac! Your seahorse is amazing with the white parts well preserved! (Great foresight!) The splats echos the spiny back of the seahorse. Two kinds of the bubbles add so much interest.
Thank you so much for your kind words for me. I'm so looking forward to being inspired by your creations like this one!

Thank you so much Mac for sharing your detailed description of your Gorgeous heat embossed and emboss resist technique that resulted in an amazingly beautiful, colorful and textured seahorse. Love your blown Lindy's with a straw background. I have done that with Alcohol ink, but not my Lindys. Thank you for the tip. Also loved your 2 kinds of bubbles..die cut and Frantage...beautiful texture and dimension. Another stunning CAS mixed media card, my friend.
Merry Christmas...Hugs, Nancy

I'm still picking my jaw up off the floor here Mac! Your card is absolutely incredible!! LOVE how you colored the seahorse with those beautiful colors and then used the emboss resist so that you could add more color over top and not ruin the beautiful coloring you did on the seahorse! And those splatters with the straw are so cool looking! I've only ever tried that with Al Inks, but will definitely have to give it a try with other water color mediums! Loving the die cut bubbles too! Lovely, lovely card Mac!! :0)

This is a great, wonderful color and perfect watering around your image. All beautiful bubbles pretend to be air bubbles in the water. Another awesome card!

So cool, Mac!! I LOVE your gorgeous seahorse. Adding the clear embossing so you can do Lindy's magicals over top is a great way to use emboss resist! Blowing with a straw ... I laughed when I read that you were light headed when you finished. That would be me too! :) Us crafters are so dedicated that we risk our lives to make our art! :) So glad you didn't fall over after you finished blowing ink with the straw! I love the bubble die-cut at the top to finish off your design. AWESOME, my friend! xx
