CAS Mix Up August Reminder Post

Time for the reminder post for the CAS Mix Up Challenge,

which is Stencil Monoprinting....

Hosted by the talented and very creative Nancy.......

Fabulous inspiration awaits you in the gallery and
from the wonderful design team.
Our talented guest designer this month is Cathy from Cathy's Card Spot.
If you've time, pop across and take a look.....

This is my card......

I have used stencil Monoprinting, stamping and my choice is heat embossing and doodling.
I popped on two shades of Lindy pink magical powders onto the stencil and sprayed with water.
I then quickly flipped it over onto the watercolour card and pressed it down.....
Letting the powders do their magic.

After it had all dried I stamped and heat embossed one of the butterflies in white.
Then doodled in black and white inks around the butterflies
Finishing with stamping and heat embossing the sentiment and the edge on the left in black.
I decanted some of the blue Lindy spray into a water colour brush
and lightly water coloured the background.

This is such a fun and unique technique often producing artsy backgrounds.
I am looking forward to seeing your creations in the gallery.
Thank you so much for stopping by....
Challenges I would love to enter....

Gorgeous card Mac! LOVE your beautiful butterfly monoprint. Amazing shimmer from the magicals ... and how clever to use a waterbrush filled with colour for the background. Thanks for the tip!! I'm going to try that! Your finishing touches are perfect ... doodled, stamped and embossed butterfly is so pretty, and the black heated strip and sentiment are a wonderful contrast to the lighter colours of the print. Great work, my friend! xx

I love your pink and blue colors Mac - your butterflies are so pretty with the black and white dots to add definition to their outlines - the bold black sentiment is perfect over the stenciling! Julia xx

Gorgeous Stencil Monoprint butterfly background with your Magicals, Mac. I LOVE how you added all your doodled circles around each butterfly in an artsy creative way! Love your black strip along one vertical border too. I have never tried adding magicals to my aqua brush for watercoloring. Such a creative and pretty addition to your butterflies. TFS your beauty, my friend. Hugs...

wow Mac, Loving this and the colours are spectacular. My couple of attempts doing this technique were a disaster and kept the papers for die cuts, maybe another attempt before the challenge is over and think I am spraying maybe too much water...hugs.xx[aussie aNNie blog] ♥ ♥

Your stencil monoprint butterflies turned out beautifully. And I love the way you added the pale blue wash around them. I must try doing a monoprint with magicals. Love the extra touches of the black strip and the doodling.

What a 'Magical' creation you have here M. Looks super with the blue wash and all that doodling on those pretty butterflies is a great finish. The black side is also a nice touch to marry together with the sentiment.

What a great idea for watercoloring the background, Mac! And your Lindy's have dissolved and blended so beautifully! I played with Lindy's yesterday and had a less than stellar experience. Guess that means lots and lots more practice! Your doodling takes this to another level! Fantastic, my friend!

Gorgeous butterfly Magicals monoprint, Mac! I’m sure it looks more sparkly IRL. The Lindy spray light blue background is beautiful too.
Heat-embossing on the butterfly and doodling around the butterflies are a creative additional touch and they make your card unique. I love it! Hideko xx

I adore this technique you achieved fabulous effects with those sprays, so much more controlled by using a water brush, I never think to use mine for anything but water. Those doodles around the Butterflies really make them come alive. Love that left hand black strip it really blinkers the eye to focus on your design. Clever creation & I LOVE it.
Hope you have had a super weekend ?
Creative wishes Tracey xx
