CAS Mix Up July Challenge

The CAS Mix Up Challenge for July is

Colour Your Die Cuts.....

The design team and our fabulous guest designer Susan Joyce from Cat's Ink Corporated
have wonderful inspiration for you over on the blog.
There are video's links too, to inspire you further......

This is my card....

Colour your Die Cuts and keep your card CAS.
Include some stamping and your choice...My choice is ink blending and splats.

I die cut the flower out of watercolour card.
This gave me the shape and confidence to free hand draw my flower inside the die cut.

I coloured my flower with a light wash of grey watercolour, charcoal pencils
and black Indian ink.
I die cut a further five flower shapes to add dimension.
The leaves have been stamped, colour washed and hi-lighted with a black pen.

The background has been masked and blended with distress inks.
I finished off with stamping the sentiment, silver foiling in the centre of the flower
and white splats.

So many techniques to use to colour in your dies.
By using the die cut as a template enabled me to try,
for the first time drawing my own flower.
I am looking forward to seeing your creations in the gallery.

Challenges I would love to enter......
Monochrome Magic - Fun challenge with or without the twist of purple...
I have just found this fun challenge and thought I would join in...
Thank you for the shout out.....Delighted x

Yikes Mac! what a great job of drawing on the die cut - with perfect balance of the petals - so different in the black/grays which actually shows all the detail more dramatically - what a lovely card! Julia xx

Oh WOW, Mac, this is stunning in grey, black and white. I can't believe that you drew the flower, it looks amazing. xx

I love the monochrome of this card. This makes the card very elegant. Your rose is so beautiful, I love its extra dimensions. And I'm not sure if you narysowałaś the rose inside of the cut piece of paper? If so, then you are a genius artist. The masked panel is so beautiful with a delicate sponge and a great splashing.
Hugs,
BożenA

Wow, wow, wow!!! What a stunning, stunning card! I'm in awe that you drew that flower once you cut the shape out. What talent you have Mac! That bloom is just stunning and I love how you shaded it. The masked, blended panel going down the card is equally as beautiful. I don't know what colors you used, but you have it down to perfection! You have certainly knocked with challenge out the park, hope to see some more of your beautiful drawings again. Hugs, Brenda

This is stunning Mac and the greyscale is so different but has worked beautifully with great shadows and highlights on the flower, and the splattered strip behind with the vertical sentiment complements it perfectly. x
