Let's Chill.....

Great to make another Christmas Card...
Today's card has been inspired by
The Muse Christmas Visions Challenge where
Cornelia has provided four amazing cards as inspiration.
My card.......
Bottom right card......
My interpretation.....
Loved the Big Blue circle, the pretty little blue dots and the cute penguins
The Big blue circle became my balloon.
The pretty little dots became the lower half of my card.
The ice cube igloo in Cornelia's card became my stencilled icicles
at the top of my card.
Finished off with the black sentiment.
I have used Lindy sprays for the balloon, all shiny and pretty.

I reckon my Penguin is really chilled out having fun in the snow.
I have a birthday (hence the balloon)
in the family on Christmas day so this is for her x

Thank you so much for finding time to stop by.
I really do appreciate it.

Joyful Christmas.......

Great to make another Christmas Card...
Today's card has been inspired by
The Muse Christmas Visions Challenge where
Cornelia has provided four amazing cards as inspiration.
My card.......
Top right card......
My interpretation.....
Loved the contemporary Deer with the lines,
the fun hanging elements
and the strip on the side of the card
I used satin card, which took the black soot distress ink really well
through the stencil.
I also turned the stencil to get another antler.
I stamped over the black ink, whilst the stencil was still on
and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.
The strip at the bottom has been stamped with black and gold inks...
Thank goodness for the Misti.
Finishing off with a stamped sentiment
and hi-lighting the little hanging stamped Christmas elements.
Hard to get photos as the gold ink looked yellow
or the gold embossing looked too blingy.

Thank you so much for finding time to stop by.

Oh Snap.......

Had fun with this one....
Today's card has been inspired by
The Muse Christmas Visions Challenge where
Cornelia has provided four amazing cards as inspiration.
Today's card.......
Top left card......
My interpretation.....
I loved the rows of cookies on the tray, the kraft card, the washi tape
and the little Christmas stocking that has been snapped!
Can you see it just below the tray?
I have used a stencil for the background and white embossing paste.
I choose only some of the rows on the stencil, so I had to do one row at a time
and wait for it to dry.

My fun gingerbread has been fussy cut and hi-lighted with white nova drops.
The bits falling from the gingerbread should look like 'crumbs' !!!
It made me giggle when I saw the photos how I positioned them on the card.
I enjoyed making my own washi tape to look like Cornelia's.
The embossed white layer has been done with an embossing folder.

Thank you so much for finding time to stop by.

Borders......

Still playing with Alcohol inks and this time die's and borders.....
Today's card.....
The die cut has been cut from gloss card
made from several colours of  alcohol inks and gold.
I have used the inlaid technique, which was time consuming but fun.
I cut the die cut again to use as a stencil for the border.
This has been done with gloss 3D gel.
I raised the frame with pink foam
and finished off with a stamped sentiment and a few sequins.

I was inspired to use Alcohol Inks from the wonderful CAS Mix Up Challenge.
If you pop over they have links to videos with inspiration to using these inks.

The die cut is a Poppy Stamps die...Distressed Benson Corner
and their challenge is Borders, which inspired the layout
and the use of the border

Thank you so much for stopping by.

Sunshine.........

I have been playing with Alcohol inks these past couple of days....
This is my card.....
I was so inspired by Nancy's card that I want to try the technique for myself.
My jaw hit the ground when I first saw her amazing card x
I had never thought to use Alcohol inks through a stencil to colour the image.
So this was a first for me.
Yes they seep underneath, but that's what is so creative about it.
After the inks where dry I popped the flower stencil back on
and used 3D gloss medium to make the flower shiny.
The edges of the petals and the seeds where hi-lighted with a brown pen.
I was inspired to use Alcohol Inks from the wonderful CAS Mix Up Challenge.
If you pop over they have links to videos with inspiration to using these inks.

The Paper Players challenge is CAS and get colouring.
I have used Alcohol inks to colour in my image.... which is new to me
and a fun way to 'colour'...if not a little/lot unpredictable!

Thanks for stopping by...... I really do appreciate it.

Birthday Wishes....

I have had a fun couple of days playing with Salt....
Update..Thrilled to have been picked as an outstanding design for my card
at The CAS Water Colour Challenge....Thank you
This is one of the cards that I made with the technique...
I have used pigment powders and water with sprinkles of salt,
left to dry and watch to see the results.....

The die cut has been cut from linen card,
popped up onto foam
and the sentiment stamped with the Misti straight onto the card base.
It took we awhile to learn the technique but so glad that I persevered.
The wonderful challenge over at CAS Water Colour
was the inspiration for the technique.
I love challenging myself to a new techniques.
Thank you so much for stopping by.

Thinking of You......

Today's card....
Update..Thrilled to have been picked as an outstanding design for my card
at The CAS Mix Up Challenge....Thank you so much
Having fun with Alcohol Inks....
I have used Alcohol inks, stamping, heat embossing, glossy accents and die cutting.
I have used a gel medium over the Alcohol Inks, through the die cut stencil,
as I wanted a glossy look to them.
It was interesting as it changed the colour of the pinks in the alcohol inks.
The pinks went a more fluorescent colour than their original magenta colour.
I still loved them and I always love learning.
I was inspired to use Alcohol Inks from the wonderful CAS Mix Up Challenge.
If you pop over they have links to videos with inspiration to using these inks.
The glorious colours of the flower and the black card layer is simply stunning.
I have never played here before and always wanted too.
Thank you so much for finding time to stop by my blog
I really do appreciate it x

Thank You...Altenew

I had so much fun creating today's card....
My inspiration......
  • I was first drawn to the colours which look and feel grungy/retro to me
  • The grouping of the elements on Erum's amazing card
  • The splats and grungy background
  • The stamping of the sentiment straight onto the card

I started with stamping the reverse of some of the Simple flowers heads
in the stamp set and heat embossing in gold.
Splattering and using Bistre pigment powders against the resist of the embossing.
The leaves are from the Adore you stamp set as I wanted a more open leaf.
Some heat embossed in gold and some in brown archival ink.
I had so much fun using my oxides for the first time to replicate the colours,
then stamping and layering the Simple Flower heads.

I finished off with more splats and stamping the sentiment straight onto the card.
The Thank you sentiment is from The Oriental Orchid stamp set....
There is a Thank you sentiment in the Adore set too...
You can never have enough sentiment stamps!!

The strip of gold  washi tape is a nod to Erums new card for the challenge....

Grungy, Retro and a fun couple of days crafting.....
Thank you for the inspiration x

Some very kind blog friends and followers have suggested to me
that I add a 'follow me' by e mail button.
I have hopefully done that...I hadn't realised the significance of that button
Thank you so much x
