I have been having fun making One Layer Cards,
using a die cut as a mask and then as a stamp.
I started by making two master boards that I cut up into four cards.
The flower die has been cut out of masking paper to use as a mask.
I also die cut the flower out of foam and made a stamp,
which was heat embossed in white to use as a resist.
The background has also been stamped with some smaller stamps
and embellished with white and black pens.
The boards where sprayed with several sprays,
mostly containing mica for that added shine.
Further interest has been added with stamping
the background text with silver paint.
I finished off with stamping individual sentiments
and popping on silver paint around the edges.
I enjoyed using the die cut as a mask and as a stamp
and also liked the slightly different looks to the both techniques.
I also enjoyed using some smaller stamps, which I often forget about.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog.

Love these artsy looks.
These are really wonderful! I love all the choices you made in making the masterboards. Usually when i do them, I have to really pick and choose what area I will use on a card. Great job!
Wow--beautiful cards from your master boards, Mac--terrific stamping, inking, spraying! The added text & silver edges are great elements!

Hi Phyllis
Good to hear from you and thank you for your question. The two darker blue ones the first photo has the masking technique and the next photo has the resist technique.
I was experimenting to see if the two different techniques did look any different.
I don't think they look much different...however....
With the resist technique the flower did look a little sharper around the edges.
The masking technique was a little jagged around the edges of the flower as some of the spray ink gets underneath, which I also like.
It really would depend on what you where going to do..
If you used the resist technique then you could play more as of course the flower would stay as it is.
Thank you so much for stopping by I really appreciate your question x
Enjoy the rest of your day.
Thank you for the congratulations x
these look great...love that they are so easy to mail too!
