Tone on Tone

Today's card is a mix of stencils and medias to achieve a Tone on Tone effect....

Here is My Card.....

Distress inks where used, along with two stencils.
Embossing paste and Crackle paste where also used.
The embossing paste helps with the tone on tone effect,
as it soaks up the colour underneath and gives another layering and tonal effect.
I finished off with a strip of foil and a sentiment stamped in brown
and heat embossed with white on top.

Challenges that inspired me.....

Thank you Kath for the Shout Out
Seize The Birthday with the topping of Texture and there's plenty on this card.....

Wow! What a lot of tones you got with these different media, Mac! Love the added texture of the crackle and the thin foil strip makes a perfect divider between the design and sentiment! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!

This is gorgeous Mac and love the white paste and crackle giving such wonderful texture and I love the super script and the flourishy shapes for the stencilling. The foil strip gives a great shiny edge, and the brown sentiment with white embossing over the top gives a little hint of shadow from the brown but makes it look like it is just an impression, such a clever idea. x

Wow, you never ceased to amaze Mac! This card is amazing! I love that stencil and I love how you used it. Or is it two stencils??? I think it was really clever to use a crackle median and paste, give this so much texture and visual interests. Love the tone on tone color you got with one color too. Love, love, love this beautiful amazing card! Hugs, Brenda

This is a wonderful mixed media card, Mac! And it's beautifully CAS! I love the combination of the cracked paste and embossing paste. It's so interesting to look at different texture. The gold foil is a fabulous finishing touch. Very clever and unique to stamp the sentiment in brown and then heat-embossed on top in white. The brown ink underneath makes the letters pop even with white (card base)-on-white (heat-embossing). So creative, my friend!
