A card for Betty.....

CAS Mix Up challenge this month is Stencil Tracing,
which inspired me, to make my card for my Mother In Law.....Betty.
She is in a care home, with alzheimer's and tested positive for Covid
but was Asymptomatic and had no systems.....x.

We didn't worry any less, especially as we couldn't visit.
Thankfully she is now free of the virus and so is the care home, in which she lives.
I don't normally share personal information on my blog, so I hope you don't mind....

This is her card....

I used two stencils, one for the background and one for the rose one on top.
I wanted the background stencilling to show through the rose....
After blending the pinks and the greens I outlined the rose with a silver pen.
This made a huge difference and I am loving the technique Nancy....
I finished off with die cutting two of the edges with a deckle edge and hi-lighting them in silver.
The CAS Mix Up Blog has tons of inspiration, using this fun and effective technique...
Thank you so much for stopping by.....
Challenges I would love to enter.....
CAS Mix Up - Stencil Tracing- Super thrilled with my win.....Thank you x

Hello Mac, so pleased to hear that your MiL doesn't have the virus, but how awful for you all that you couldn't visit, that must have been so difficult. I'm not sure if that measure has relaxed now. To be honest I'm a bit confused with what we can and can't do at the moment.
Anyhoo your card is stunning, beautifully designed and coloured, gorgeous floral image, take care of yourself Kate x x

Mac, I am glad your mother in law is OK now. The virus is dangerous, so I am happy that she is free now. Your card once again is stunning. I am sure she will love this card. Great stenciling technique using two stencils and the silver lining is perfect! Thank you so much for the inspiration. Hugs, my dear friend.

Your cards are always so clever elegant and stylish, the idea of stencilling over stencilling and then making sure the lower one clear through the one on top mind blowing. x

Beautiful card Mac, the silver out lining gives a gorgeous shimmer to the petals and leaves.
I'm so glad your Mother in law isn't suffering the severe symptoms, it must be so frightening for you and your husband.

Outlining these beautiful flowers made them gorgeous, my friend! I love the soft stenciling in the background that adds interest without taking away from the main design! What a relief for you all, Mac ... I'm so pleased that your MIL is now Covid free ... and that you can breathe a little easier knowing her home is clear too. Your card is beautiful ... the background stencilling is soft and ethereal ... and adds such lovely depth to that gorgeous bloom! The silver outlining is a fabulous, shimmery touch ... and the sentiment simply says it all. Hugs, Anita :)

Thank goodness your mother in law is doing well and the place is also free of Covid now. What a scare. Your card is so lovely. Using two stencils is brilliant and this card is gorgeous in the pink, green and silver.

I'm sure it is very stressful to not be able to visit your MIL along with the worry about her getting covid especially with her condition which is stressful enough with just that alone. Sometimes it helps if not to talk about it, but even just typing it up can help along with being able to create a special work from the heart for someone on your mind. Your card is absolutely stunning Mac! Love the deckled edges with your touch of silver to soften up the look. I never thought to use the stencil in this way and I've been inspired! Thanks so much and sending comfort and hugs your way!

Another stunning card. Layering the stencils has created a lovely texture on the rose petals and outlining with silver has given it a beautiful sheen and kept the soft look. So glad your mother in law is OK, such a worrying time xx

Hello Mac,
I'm so glad your mother-in-law has had COVID asymptomatically. I thank God that He looked after you. It must have been a very difficult time for you and I am glad you are now all free from the virus. Hope you can see your MIL. She will definitely like this card. I love how you delicately marked the background, creating only a soft glow of color and pattern. Adding stencil roses on top of the pattern gave such an amazing effect. I love how the background pattern is gently applied to these beautiful roses. As always, your technique and vision leave us far behind.
hugs, bee safe, my Friend.

I don't mind, Mac. I think that's how we get to know each other and it's one of the advantages of blogging over other social media. I'm so glad Betty and the care home are now cleared of Nasty Covid! As for your card, I'm pretty much the way I always am when I see one of your creations ... speechless and in awe! This is a stunning card, an absolute treasure! Keep well yourself! Hugs, Darnell

Gorgeous stenciling with the outlined roses using a silver metallic pen. Mac. Wonderful subtle stenciling behind your rose too. The font on your sentiment is so beautiful and your card is so thoughtfully filled with Love, my friend. So happy to hear your dear mother-in-law is now virus free. I know how difficult it is for you not to be able to personally be with her. I have not been able to see or hug my dear forever 91 year old friend, who is in a care center since mid March. I do send her a card every couple of weeks, but would love to give her a real hug. I am sure you feel the same way. Take care and so pleased you joined our CAS Mix Up Stencil Tracing Challenge. Hugs...Nancy

How scary that must have been! So glad your MIL & the home are now free of the virus. It's such a mystery how some people have no symptoms & others die. The card you made is just beautiful, Mac! I love the silver tracing!

The card is gorgeous. Pleased to hear Betty is over the virus. My mum was the same with no symptoms at all. I just wish people would realise this as we still see people who are not distancing or wearing masks yet it's pretty obvious that if we want to put an end to this awful killer we have to work at it otherwise you could have the virus and be passing it on without knowing. Take care my friend and happy crafting, Angela xXx

I'm so sorry to hear the news about your Mother in Law but happy to read she has recovered now and that her care home is now free of the virus, it's been devastating for so many it's so good to hear some positive news. Maybe there will be a family visit allowed now many are opening up for visitors? You card is another stunner Mac, you are the master of all CAS to me, a beautiful and delicate technique a fine art.. there would be ink splodges and a finger print for sure if it was created by me :))
Thank you for sharing this beauty, take care Hugs Tracey xx

It must be so hard to know loved ones are infected and not to be able to be with them. I'm pleased to hear that at least your MiL wasn't suffering any symptoms and is now fully recovered. I'm sure this lovely card will have cheered her up despite your absence. The pink is such an uplifting colour. Delightful.

So pleased all is well with your MIL Mac, it must have been a bit worry for you. Your card must have cheered her greatly as it is beautiful and your stencil tracing has worked wonderfully well with one layered over the other and the script and lines of the under one does come through the super pink and green flower and the silver outlining is gorgeous. A fantastic use of the stencils. x

Sorry I've been missing for awhile... I'm really sorry to hear about your MIL but so thankful that she is now safe, though that dreaded alzheimers is a nightmare. I'm glad you shared it with us.
Your card is beautiful, but then all your creations are. I love how you somehow managed to get dimension to those roses and the gentle stenciling and stamping? in the background makes this even more stunning.

Two great cards and really different feels to each. The 'beautiful you' one reminds me of Agnetha from Abba with her blue eyeshadow - love it.
