Time to Celebrate

Today's card was inspired by a fun challenge over at
The CAS Stencil ....to stencil over patterned paper.
Something I had never even thought to do....
I have had this two part metal stencil for ages, so I thought I would make a masculine card.
Layer one - Blending a couple of shades of brown inks.
Layer two - Copper embossing paste.
A little foiling for the hands and the top of the watch.
I also stamped and heat embossed in copper the circles and around the edges
and finished off with stamping the sentiment three times.
What a great way to use up some of my hoarded paper.
I am looking at my patterned paper in a whole different way now......
Thank you ladies for the inspiration x.
Challenges I would love to enter....

Uniko Challenge #55 without the optional twist
The circle stamp and the sentiment are by Uniko

Why is it such a revelation to stencil over patterned paper? I have no idea but now I have a new favourite technique and I get to use the stash of patterned paper that I have hoarded. This card is wonderful, you have created such a great finish with the embossing and foiling. Thanks for returning to your blog with 2 really great cards xx

You have done it again M - created something fabulous with a piece of designer paper dies and embossing. What a spectacular CAS card. The choice of paper is perfect as is the sentiment and the copper circles. Nice touch with the foiled hands. I must try some foiling one day as I bought some at a recent show.
PS Love seeing you back in the crafting circle again. It's 'braw' hehe You know what it means.

Oh, what a great stencil that is - and I just love the textured look you've given it, and especially the coppery detailing - fabulous! It's easy to forget that patterned paper is just paper after all... and adding mixed media effects can make it even better. Great card, and not just masculine I'd say - I'd father receive this than something pink and frilly!
