Our fun challenge this month at The CAS Mix Up Challenge is Paper Towel
and is hosted by the lovely Loll.
This is to challenge you to recycle those inky paper towels.
Our creative and talented guest designer this month is Betty from Created by bjk.
Pop across to the blog for fabulous inspiration from the design team and Betty.
The inky paper towel was glued to a mixed media card.
I applied glue to the edge and heat embossed two shades of gold embossing powders
and for added texture one was UTEE
The leaves where stamped and heat embossed in gold and so was the die cut sentiment.
It is great to use up those mop up pieces of kitchen and paper towels and make them into a card.
There are different ways to use the inky Paper Towel
and Loll has a video showing you how over on the blog.
and I am so looking forward to seeing your creativity in the gallery.
Challenges I would love to enter...........

this is so cool - love the deep colors you achieved by glueing your paper towel to cs - and the gold just accents it so well!
WOW! LOVE your paper towel section of your card front. So much dimension with the creases ... and gorgeous colours. I love how you've added the layers of gold embossing powder to blend the paper towel into the card - very cool!! Beautiful gold accents with yoru leaves and die-cut hugs. Hi, Mac! You always come up with the most magnificent abstract designs! The gold EP and UTEE on this are just amazing! I'm curious about the application of EP to the torn edge of your paper towel? I see you used glue - did you apply the EP while the glue used to adhere the paper towel was still wet? It's such a clean edge along the white card stock - that's why I was wondering. Some 20 years ago, we did this technique in the stamp store I was demonstrating at. But it was not with beautiful "left overs". It was with clean paper towels that we deliberately inked up, stamped on, and then applied to card stock with Mod Podge Glue. Our textures were just like yours, only, we did not do the UTEE on a die (dies were just a fledgling market back then) and we did not use UTEE, just EP. I love this card. It seems like magic with the crispness of your images, and that fabulously embossed edge! BEAUTIFULLY DONE, MAC! hugs, de
Lovely project. Thanks for joining in with my challenge over at Country View Crafts.
Now that I studied your before and after photos even more, I am impressed with your skill at applying the glue on the edge for the EP. And duhhhhh! I understand now that you didn't have to be extra careful if some of the glue was on the white cardstock, you just wanted to make sure that the white cardstock didn't have little unwanted flecks. IT'S GORGEOUS with or without the EP - and now that I've left you a booklet of my stupidity, thanks for the inspiration today! LOL xx
Awesome design Mac, loving the bright green with the embossed gold and texture that you achieved with the Paper Towel.
What a gorgeous card, the gold and the torn edge make for a stunning visual.
Wow, this is beautiful. Awesome recycling.
You always have the most unique designs for your cards and this is another one. I love that dark green with the gold. I have to go watch these videos to see how to do this. Gluing it right on the paper gives so much texture.
Oh I love your fabulous design Mac, what a brilliant card and gorgeous colours, have a lovely weekend, Kate x

WOW Mac this is amazing - one moment while I wipe the drool off my keyboard. Love your rich colours and the gold on top is exquisite. A stunning outcome.

I used to use glue on tissue paper or serviettes when I was doing mixed media (a long time ago!) and I loved the effect. You have reminded me of this technique Mac - but I never would have been brave enough to try it on a card front!
Awesome! x
Amazed at the ideas you come up with. This is gorgeous. I love all that rich looking embossing. Hugs Mrs A.
What a stunning card. You always make such unique cards, I just love that gold embossing on the paper towel. I would never have thought of doing that, it is so effective. I am afraid I have to admit that if I have a wet paper towel it gets binned. I must change my ways if this is an example of what you can do with them xx
totally AMAZING, Mac! This paper towel just blends right into that white card base. Green and Gold, the perfect combo, but you always make things look exceptional LOL. Gorgeous dear friend! xxx
Beautiful. Love it to bits. Happy creative weekend too. Angela xXx
What a gorgeous card, Mac! The shine from the gold embossing for the edge, the leaves, and the die-cut sentiment looks amazing with the beautiful shades of green paper towel! I love the beautiful contrast of the panel with all the white space. The creases and UTEE add so much interest and dimension.
Thank you for sharing the picture of “before” and “after” of the paper towel panel!
