Ghosting with a Stencil.....

Today's card is for The CAS Stencil Challenge...
The technique required is 'Ghosting'...
The background has been blended using several colours of Oxides...
At last I got them out and played with them....
Using the flower stencil and a baby wipe I wiped away some of the colour
to achieve the ghosting effect....
After that.....stamping, water splats, heat embossing and doodling with a white pen.
I love using a splat stamp and in this case heat embossing in the gold,
as I am able to control the splats...

The card started off with masking the rectangle shape
and my intention was to make a one layer card...
Nope that was not happening, as of course a last minute blob appeared!
The rectangle was then cut out and popped up onto foam....

Thank you so much for finding time to stop by, I really do appreciate it x.

Balloons two different ways....

Today's cards are for The Twofer Challenge......
I have used the same Die cut Balloon for two different occasions.....
The Die cut is from Poppystamps and is a really old one.
The challenge requires you to use the same stamp or die or stencil
and then use it for two different occasions, using the theme of Balloons.
The Bear is called The sleeping bear but I have always seen it as he has had a good night out!
I thought the sentiment went well with The Hangover Bear....
The die cut heart shaped balloon has been heat embossed and raised up on foam to add dimension.
The 'love you' stamped string is from a different stamp.
A masculine card, in masculine colours for a masculine friend....
I have used the Balloon heart shape die to make 3D snowdrops.
I popped on a hint of 3D green and 3D white on the bunnies bobtails.
A card ready for Easter......
Two cards made with the same balloon heart die and two very different occasions.
Spring is definitely on it's way and I can't wait x.

Spring is on the way.....

I am so looking forward to Spring...

Here is today's card....

I am joining in The CAS Watercolour Challenge, which is water colouring on vellum...
A new to me technique.......
The flowers have been die cut onto vellum, water coloured with zigs
and in-layed into the linen card stock.
I choose a bit of a fussy technique with the inlaying but I so enjoyed it.
Finishing off with the die cut white flower die
and then stamping the Spring sentiment, which I love, onto vellum.
I popped a manipulated skinny frame onto the sentiment, which took me ages!
I so enjoyed the technique and will definitely use it in the future.
The challenge has made me a little more confident to use water on vellum.....Thank you.

CAS Mix Up March Reminder ......

Popping in to remind you of the challenge this month at The CAS Mix UP
which is Faux Stained Glass........Hosted by the talented and creative Joanna.
Lots of inspiration and video links on the blog and the gallery is looking amazing.
It's our 3rd Birthday too, with prizes to be won.....

Here is my card......

I have used the Stained Glass Technique with Alcohol Inks,
Stamping and my choice is Die Cutting and Heat Embossing
The background has been stamped with a flower bouquet in black ink.
For the poppy colours I have used alcohol inks.
For the stained glass effect I have used glossy accents and several layers of black die cuts.
The last black die cut layer has been heat embossed several times to get it super shiny.
Finishing off with the sentiments, two skinny frames and a cute mini heart....

Thank you Gundi (from Papierelle) for being our wonderful guest designer this month.

Find Beauty in Chaos.....

I am Super excited and Thrilled to be the guest designer at The Craft Stamper
with The Take It Make it Challenge this month....
It is always anything goes, so long as there is some stamping....
The Design Team always provide amazing inspiration.

This is my Creation for the front of my A5 sketchbook......

I had so much fun with lots of stamping, alcohol inks, acetate, my newly found light box
and a mapping pen and white acrylic paint.....
I started by loosely stamping the flower onto scratch paper.
Popped acetate over it and applied around 8 shades of alcohol inks.
I turned over the acetate and then used my mapping pen
and white calligraphy ink and white acrylic paint on the other side.
I used splat stamps, crackle stamps and text stamps on white card stock.
Using the acetate overlay helped with the placement of the stamping....
I did the same with the back of my A5 sketch book....
I could have always just stamped and heat embossed in white but.....
My acetate was not heat resistant and I wanted to try out the technique
of using my mapping pen on the thinner lines and
white acrylic paint in a bottle for the thicker lines.
I always enjoy trying out new techniques to me.
I had so much fun and using acetate and my newly found light box certainly helped.
There is always so much inspiration and creativity over at The Craft Stamper blog....
Thank you once again for the opportunity to guest with you this month x.

CAS Mix Up March Challenge.......

The theme for The CAS Mix Up March Challenge is Faux Stained Glass.
The challenge is hosted by the very creative Joanna.
Pop across and be inspired by the talented Design Team
and our fabulous guest designer Gundi (Papierelle)......
We are also celebrating our 3rd Birthday.....

This is My Card......

I have used the Technique, Stamping and my choice is Heat Embossing, Die Cutting and Stencilling...

The Large die cut Butterfly, from Memory Box has a solid part and a more intricate part to it....
Two separate dies.......
For the solid background die I used a few pretty colours of distress inks and water.
The more intricate die cut has been die cut 5 times and layered to achieve the Faux Stained Glass,
using Glossy Accents.
There are really good links on The CAS Mix Up Blog that explains the technique really well.
This photo shows the added extra background layer, which I heat embossed in copper to give even more dimension and to make the butterfly look like it was actually flying.....
The top layer has a couple of layers of heated copper embossing powder
and I think this photo shows the effect of the Faux Stained Glass technique.
The stencilled flower has been done with translucent embossing paste
and I finished off with white heat embossing on the tag sentiment.

I had never done this technique before but with the help of the video links I had fun and enjoyed it.

Hope to see your wonderful creations in the gallery
and I hope you'll join in our 3rd Birthday celebrations x.
