Stencilled Blue Flower......

Having fun with a Stencil, pigment powders and my glue gun.......
This is the card I made....
I started by using Brusho's and Lindy's sprinkled through a stencil and spraying with water.
After quickly removing the stencil and letting it dry I stamped a text stamp.
Using platinum acrylic paint I painted around the white spaces left by the stencil,
as I knew when I used my glue gun I would be wobbly......
You can see in this photo what I mean about painting with the acrylic platinum paint before
and then after the glue gun..........

After using my glue gun and letting it dry I used the platinum acrylic paint again to paint over it.
I have used perfect pearls to do this technique before but never my 'unused' glue gun.
The glue dried within 60 seconds, which was a bonus........
unless you had planned to use mica powders!!!!
There are pluses and minuses to using this technique
but I so enjoyed using my uncontrollable glue gun for the first time!
I finished off with die cutting and heat embossing the sentiment.

I wanted to say a BIG Thank you to the friendly and helpful bloggers
who helped with my recent email notifications problems....
The bottom line being .......start again my end and your end....
You are all so kind....Thank you x

I used the blues to join in The Stamplorations CAS Challenge,
with the optional colour twist of using Cerulean.....
I was hoping with using the Brusho and Lindy's that I have used the colour.....

Challenges I would love to enter...
Although I use techniques I am mindful my card is CAS and I have kept a lot of 'White' space....
Stamplorations - Mixed Media Challenge - Anything goes but you must use a stencil
I have used a Stamplorations  Stencil and although a CAS card I have mixed the medias...
I have used a Stamplorations Stencil and their die cut 'Hugs' sentiment

Wow! You are so BRAVE to use a never before used glue gun on this, but it worked out fabulously :-) It's gorgeous and really looks like the leading on stained glass, which got me wondering if the lining stuff in glass painting would work...h'mmmm… Unfortunately, all mine dried up and I won't buy new just to try it, lol. What a brilliant result.

wow Mac, such a neat technique, I'm not sure if my attempt would look anything like the outline. Beautiful mixed media :)

As soon as I pick my jaw up off the floor I can comment! This is just beautiful and what a technique. The colors are lovely and that glue and paint made it gorgeous. How did you think to do that, it is great.

This is fabulous, I would never have thought of using a glue gun. The effect is great. I have a glue gun that I rarely use as I tend to just get glue everywhere and not where I want it. It doesn't matter that the lines are wobbly, that just adds to the effect, brilliant xx

The card looks great Mac. I've used this technique before but coloured the glue with gilding wax by rubbing over it with my finger. Thanks for reminding me how useful the glue gun can be. have a lovely creative week, Angela xxx

You are so brave and steady handed to have used a glue gun to do this, Mac! Wow! It's amazing! The powders through a stencil are crisp and gorgeous and I love the stamped text! But the outline is so amazing!

This is so creative Mac! LOVE your beautiful flower with the amazing magicals. But adding hot glue to the outline of the flower is so amazing and adds so much depth. The platinum acrylic paint is the perfect colour to go with the blue flower. I need to dig out my glue gun! :) xx

It looks just like stained glass Mac and a great use for the glue gun. I have a glue gun which I have only used once myself so with the right stencil I would certainly give this technique a go, but don't think I would make such a beautiful finished look as you have. x

Gorgeous blue bloom with the platinum outlines, Mac! I love that you added the stamped text to the petals. It makes the flower very unique and adds so much interest. And you did a fantastic job painting around the outlines with acrylic paint and using the glue-gun! The dimension is fantastic.
I have an "unused" glue-gun too... ;-P

You must have an amazing steady had to outline this beautiful flower as perfect as you did M. Love the scripted background and ombre colours from your powders.
Funny I have only recently used my glue gun for the first time when a friend suggested I use it to stick down some leaves. I know I will be using it more often now.
Amazing dimension you got with the heat embossed sentiment.
