CAS Mix Up October Challenge

I am excited to be hosting my first Challenge

at The CAS Mix Up this month.
This Months Challenge is technique based and is Metal.....

Metal can be Real or Faux.......
or even a Metal looking technique.....
You are only limited by your imagination.

Have fun and I am so looking forward to seeing your wonderful creations in the gallery.

There are video links over on the blog too, to inspire you further....
Along with the amazingly creative DT and our wonderful guest designer Pat

This is my card.....

I have used Stamping, Tin Foil, real leafs and Heat Embossing as my choice.
I have used three leafs from the garden, that had good veining on them
and stuck them to canvas paper for added texture.
The tin foil was then glued down on top and two colours of acrylic paint lightly painted on top.
Once this was dry I lightly rubbed back some of the acrylic paint to expose the leafs,
the veins and the texture from the canvas paper.
The foliage has been stamped in green and the tops heat embossed in silver on the card stock.
I ran a silver pen around the edges of the small squares and popped them up onto foam.
Finishing off with stamping the sentiment in green.

I remember doing this technique in my school days and had fun then too x.
So looking forward to seeing your creations in the gallery.
Have fun.......x
Crafty Hugs....

Challenges I would like to enter.....

WOW! LOVE that you used leaves from your garden Mac! That is really the sign of a true mixed media artist to use found / forged items. This is an AMAZING design. Love the silver embossed leaves with the green backgrounds. The texture from the leaves and the canvas paper shows through to create a lot of texture. Fun challenge Mac!! xx

I had to read this 3 times to understand that those are real leaves under the foil! What a great metal technique Mac! Partially rubbing off the paint gives such a great look - and the vine stampings behind the boxes really invites the eye to wander about your design! A great Mixed Media challenge for us this month! xx

This is so cleverly done Mac, using real leaves too, and love the colours you have used, and you can clearly see the impression of the leaves through the tin foil which gives great texture. The pretty flowers in green and silver behind the panels add lots of extra interest too. A really innovative and beautiful card. x

A very late comment from me - I'm just catching up with commenting on all the CAS DT cards I missed while on vacation! What an amazing technique using actual leaves! I must try that before all the autumn leaves are gone! I love the extra touches of silver from the pen around the edges of the squares and the heat embossed foliage in the background.
