CAS Mix Up Reminder Post.....

Come and join in the Birthday Celebrations over at

The CAS Mix Up Challenge.

There are prizes to be won too........

This is My Reminder Card for this Months Challenge ......

*My choice is Alcohol Inks, Stencilling, heat embossing and die cutting.

I have used Alcohol inks and a straw to blow the inks around on the acetate.
The back of the acetate has white crumbled tissue paper glued onto it.
The wall has been stamped and then heated with several layers of embossing powders
to add dimension and texture.
The silhouette of the man has been stencilled with black embossing paste.
Finishing off with a die cut sentiment and die cut frame.

Acetate is a fun medium to play with...
If you pop over to the blog there are videos to inspire you
and... fabulous inspiration from Cathy, our extremely talented guest designer
and our fabulous design team.

The Challenge ends on the 24th March.....
Thank you Susan for a very creative and fun challenge.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I really do appreciate it.

Crafty Hugs x

Wow!! What an amazing card Mac. Love the inky background. The embossed wall looks fantastic too, perfect for the image of the man leaning against it. My acetate isn't heat proof but I can see the benefits of it. Cathy x

What a great masculine design - and wonderful techniques on your acetate Mac! The straw blown AI's give a beautiful effect in the black and green - that embossed brick wall and the man leaning against it - all create such a great scene! Julia xx

Wow, Mac! This is amazing! I love the texture and depth of the bricks and the blown alcohol ink! (I tried that and it didn't move as well.) It makes such an interesting background! A fabulous masculine card, my friend!

What a wonderfully artsy and perfectly CAS masculine birthday card! I love it! Fabulous stamped and heat embossed wall, and great stenciling of the silhouette of the man (I'd assumed the man was stamped and the wall was stenciled when I first saw it!). And I love the splash of green and grey AI - I always forget that technique of blowing it with a straw. Also love the vertical orientation of the birthday die cut. Thanks so much for making such a great card for my turn at hosting CAS Mix Up, and I know you'll be a great replacement for me when I leave to join CAS Christmas.

Ah, you have some fab mixed media techniques going on this one! First I love the alcohol & straw effort...it's very interesting - very arty. The wall is just wonderful, and your black stenciled silhouette turned out just beautifully. It's most eye catching, and what a splendid design idea! TFS

Wow...Stunning and very creative mixed media design, Mac. I LOVE all your textures. Your man looks so relaxed leaning against the very textured brick wall while standing on a rocky path with a blast of alcohol ink that resembles a tree in the background!! All so creative and inspiring, my friend. Your birthday was perfectly placed to finish off your work of art! TFS all your details too. Great Guy card! Hugs...

This is so cleverly done Mac and you have made a wonderful mixed media piece with a masculine twist. I love the dimensional embossing for the brick wall and the super black silhouette and sentiment, and the staw blown alcohol ink on the acetate makes a fabulous background, and a lovely neutral backing with the tissue for it with the tissue paper. I am assuming that the silhouette and the brick wall are on the front of it and the alcohol ink and then the tissue on the back. I love the framing too. x

Another stunning card! The perfect masculine card. Love how you combined the acetate tissue and straw blowing techniques. I’ve done the straw blowing technique once, but it made me dizzy. 😂. Very inspiring. xx
