Here is my First ATC.....
I must confess to knowing nothing about them....
I have learnt lots about them since.
The first thing I learnt was the size of them...only 2.5" x 3.5"...tiny...
My inspiration came from Alison Bomber's blog....
My inspiration came from Alison Bomber's blog....
I gesso'd first, then added the strips of text, stencilled with embossing paste
and then gesso again.
Finishing off with a clear crackle glaze in parts...
The crackle areas went pink, outwith the strips of text...
Learning all the time and now my colour for the ATC was born...
Sprayed and splattered a few sprays in coral, grey and silver.
The embossing paste I used has no resist, so took the colour well.
I knocked back the colours several times with gesso
but also didn't want to loose all of the shine from the sprays.
I also did some light stamping with grey archival ink.
I coated the flower head with triple thick gloss.
I had fun with the edges of the ATC...
I love frantage but didn't have the right colour,
so I made my own using UTEE, platinum embossing powder
and Lindy's shiny coral embossing powder.
I loved the result and will do this again....
Splats where added with white acrylic paint.
The heating of the edges caused my triple thick gloss to bubble and melt.
Lots of melting on this ATC.....Some by accident!
Finishing off with the sentiment, using a sprayed piece of card and stamping.
I cannot believe one tiny ATC can use so many products!
And they are all not in the photo....
I learnt so much about different mediums, ATC's and had a lot of fun.
Alison's Blog gave me the inspiration to try out different techniques with this amazing ATC.
As a result I bought some of the products and gave it a go!
Clearly I went in a different direction but that was not my intention....
It was how the products performed on my card stock etc.....
That is why I would like to enter the Melt It challenge over at The Vintage Journey
as I ended up Melting quite a bit!!!!
I am super grateful to Alison for inspiring me so much....
I think the sentiment says it all...
Thank you so much for stopping by.
Crafty Hugs xx
Challenges I would like to enter......
A Vintage Journey - Melt It Challenge
I know it's just a little ATC but it's got quite a bit of melting x
Craft Stamper - Take it Make It Challenge - Anything Goes
OMG stunning, Love the coral and silver combo and that stencil is amazing. Now you have me all interested in ATC's.
What clear crackle paste do you use, I have a few but they don't crackle particularly well?
Hi Mac what a stunning ATC, I love the colours and texture and such a gorgeous stencil.
I've never understood what ATCs are about, though some of my blog friends seem to like them, now thanks to you I know what size they are, small indeed. Anyway your's is amazing, Kate x
This is AMAZING, Mac! You are so good with mixed media and clever with your experiments! This ATC has such wonderful texture, dimension and color!
Fabulous ATC, beautiful colours and lovely texture. Can't believe this is the first one you've made, you look like a pro! I must admit I've never made one, I don't know where to start! ATCs are on my list of things to try this year. xx
So glad you have found the delights of ATC's, you will soon become incredibly addicted, I love ATC's but as i'm trying to work on much larger areas at the moment i'm finding it difficult to condense back down to ATC size. I'm hoping to see lots more of your ATC creations.
Warmest of wishes Tracey x
Fantastic first ATC Mac, tried years ago making these, love the decoration and fabulous colours.
Welcome to the world of ATC's and what a stunner to start with, its so beautiful and what a lot of elements you have used. I used to run an ATC swap several years ago but rarely make them now, just an occasional swap with friends.
Boy oh boy--a tiny masterpiece, Mac! This is a real beauty--love all the elements & colors!
I had no idea what ATC stands for. (I googled it and found it meant Artist's Trading Card. Whew!) Anyway, I don't know anything about it, but this is so beautiful, Mac! Coral pink and silver with lots and lots of textures. I'm surprised to see that this tiny card required so many supplies! Thanks for sharing the photos showing how it was made. Hideko xx
Wonderful example of mixed media - love the crackle paste, the colours, and the way you did the sentiment.
WOW A stunning show piece, love your work and the colours, wow, are gorgeous...great work..love it.xx ♥[aNNie]
Mac you continue to amazie and inspire me with your crafting and use of different mediums - this ATC is gorgeous!
WOW1 I love the combination of powder pink with silver. Looks stunning. This tiny card is beautiful, looks like a precious lace from a grandmother's wedding dress. An unusual impression of moving to another space-time. I love traveling with you MAC :-)
You must have had the most fun time, with "what can I do next" Mac and boy oh! boy have you got the most incredible results. I would love to live closer to pop over when you are playing, especially as most of what you are talking about I haven't got a clue of what or how you are using products. LOL. Did I say this is very Beautiful? well I have now.
Oh what a fun ATC Mable, love the texture, color and design.
You know, I really admire your willingness to try new things and do so much mixed media. Love seeing your work!
oooh oooh! I love ATCs I recall many years ago I was involved with the PaperCrafts Magazine on-line group and we would have ATC swaps! It was great fun and oh the wonderful ATCs I collected : ) Yours is like a tiny little work of art friend! Gees girl you have more talent in your baby finger than I have in my whole body!
Jaw dropping great Mac!
Oh my, you are certainly embracing trying new techniques. I've not done an ATC either, but I sure like the way this one turned out. It was fun reading through your process (sounds a lot like mine when I'm trying things...and don't get the anticipated results). I think this is just fabulous, with the soft coral and gleam of the silvery areas interspersed in the mix. Love the embossed shape, and the melting on the outside frames the piece wonderfully, even though that's not what you intended. I think the sentiment is just perfect on this work, and obviously you had lots of fun. I don't know a lot of these products either, but the Lindy's are always fun to play with...TFS & have more fun! Hugs
Wow, Mac. Your ATC is fantastic! A SUPER creation! Isn't it fun to try new things? Kisses, my friend.
What a beautiful little ATC Mac! LOVE the colors you ended up with - and that fun funky stenciled stem - great creativity in mixing your own 'brew' of embossing powders for the edges - thanks so much for joining us in the A Vintage Journey Challenge! Julia xx (I too get so inspired by everything on Alison's blog!)
AMAZING!! I LOVE your ATC Mac!! You are so brave to just go for it. The layers have all melted together into a gorgeous, pretty and glittery design. xx
Oh Wow! This is stunning Mac and only your first one? It looks like an elaborate tile.... So beautiful!
You should definitely do this more often - how incredibly amazing! I adore the soft colors, stencil work and beautiful sentiment. It's amazing to have you share with us at A Vintage Journey too. :) Hugs, Autumn

Stunning ATC you made a fab job love your stencil to
This is fabulous!!! First time???....you knocked it out of the park! I recently did a post on my blog with another ATC technique if you'd like to see it. http://stampnboomer.blogspot.com/2018/01/pick-of-week-floral-artist-trading-cards.html
It's such fun to make them.
Wise words indeed, Mac ... set against the most amazing texture-y, layered, interesting, soft, dreamy and downright fabulous background! Brilliant work! Hugs, Anita :)
Your first ATC is a thousand times better than mine was! This is just gorgeous, love that you created your own version of frantage too x
Oh my gosh Mac, this is extraordinary!! I am loving this colour palette, so soft and yet brilliant at the same time! I wish they would invent a screen that I could reach inside and touch stuff, because dang this looks so textural!! A super gorgeous ATC my friend, well freaking done!! Loved seeing your process! hugs :)

My Card Attic
Mac - always happy to do my little bit of enabling! I get into trouble, I want some company right along with me! Hugs
Such a lot of loving care has gone into the making of this amazing ATC. I love it. The colours gel so well together and I love all the sparkle. A masterpiece of perfection. Hugs Mrs A.
Yes small doesn't make it easier! This is beautiful and I love seeing the stages,
So many wonderful details and techniques in one tiny little area! Your ATC is so gorgeous! I've not made any of them before either, but I like making tags about that size.
Looks pretty cool, but what do you do with it?
I haven't done one of these for years and even then not on this complex level - this is just stunning work.
Hi Cornelia...great question as I had no idea either!!!
I enjoy the PaperArtsy challenges and they had ATC's as their challenge and a challenge it was.
However because of it's size I have put it on the front of a linen card and it looks like a topper and looks like it was always what I meant!!!
Lucky I guess x
Thanks for popping in x
Oooh well done on making the ATC Mac, I don't make them so wouldn't have a clue either lol.It looks fabulous too, such a lot of work here ;) Viv xx
