Feathers and Some....

Good to be back crafting after my bout of Flu....
Thank you so much for all your kind messages and get well wishes x

Thank you  Loll for the shout out on your blog today..Made My Day.....

I am sure you all know about the new challenge from the wonderful Darnell...
The Twofer Challenge .....with the theme of Feathers.
Make two cards, using the same stamp or die and for two different occasions.

These are my cards...
I have used the same die cut feather, one for a Thank you Card
and one for an Encouragement Card.
You can do an style of card, so I have gone for mixing my medias....
I have used stencils, Lindy Magicals, Stamping and Die Cutting.
I have also used Crackling paste, which is a first for me.....
You get such fun and unpredictable results...love it....
The moodboard over at Mixed Media Place is fabulous..Take a look....
Certainly helped with me focusing on the colours, the texture of the tiles
and those fabulous feathers.
And...Thank you Cathy for the heads up...

The Second Card....
Gold embossing paste through a stencil, Lindy gold spray,
Frantage, stamping, die cutting and treble heat embossing...
I had so much fun creating these cards and learnt lots along the way....
The gallery is looking absolutely amazing
and with the wonderful and creative design team that Darnell has put together,
this unique challenge is going to be a huge success....
Crafty Hugs x
Challenges I would like to enter...
The Twofer Challenge .....with the theme of Feathers
Thank you so much for The Honorable Mention...
I had lots of fun with your new challenge x

Card number one......
Mixed Media Place - Moodboard
I have used many Art Basic mediums to make this card
Mixed Media Monthly - Ring In The New
The crackle medium is a new product and a new technique for me.
Loved 'playing' with the crackle to find fun things to do with it.....

First of all, I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had the Flu and I do hope that you’re well on the mend. There are just so many nasty bugs going around at the moment. Your cards are both stunning and I especially like the second one as it has such an opulent feel to it and a lovely sentiment. I really like the way that you’ve given the feathers such dimension on both cards, they’re both stunners. Look after yourself and get well soon. Crafty hugs, Sandra x

Mac, I'm in awe of these two cards. They are both fabulous examples of mixed media. I love the mix of blue and gold in the first one and the repetition of the panel. The second one is my favourite - all that wonderful rich gold with so many variations in it.

It's so great to see your cards again, Mac! I missed your creations. Hoping you recover quickly from the flu.
Both are gorgeous mixed media cards! I love all the details you worked on. The heat-embossed (3 times!) feathers look like ornaments. Both cards have 3 feathers each and yet they look so different - wonderful twofer job!! Hideko xx

First of all, I'm sorry to hear that you had the flu, Mac. People are croaking from it, so it's a big deal and I'm glad to hear you are over it! Please do be careful so you don't relapse!

I love that you and Loll have a fan girl crush because I crush on both of you with your ability to make such breathtaking designs with mixed media! It's too funny, but I actually did a post recently where I was lamenting that I might have used "too many splatters" on a simple CAS card, haha! Now you know why I am in awe of these luxurious golden delights, both of them!! It's hard to stop looking and scroll down to comment! Thank you so much for the lovely shoutout and for playing in my first Twofer Card Challenge!! Hugs, Darnell

I'm with Loll I would love to spend time playing with you and learn sooooooooo much from you. Your creativeness overwhelms me. Card 1 has so many amazing elements I just keep gazing at it and find more and more beauty. Of that tiny touch of crackle is genies. Well everything is really. So love the colour combination.
Love love love all the gold layers here. Stunning and so so beautiful. Still swooning and can't stop looking. Nearly made the A4 page. Such talent in those finger tips. How you come up with over the top fabulousness - wish I could too.

Glimpsed your 2-fer as I enjoyed your silver fern card. Again, this is really amazing work. I can't believe this is your first paste effort! Gracious, it is just so beautiful. My crackle efforts so far, have not been real good, but this is wonderful. I like the look on #1 with the watered background and those textured leaves. Again, I like the design look so much. #2 with the heavy 'metal' look of the leaves against the metallic gold textured stenciling...awesome! TFS & Hugs

Two beauties Mac and love all the pretty blue and gold and then the luscious gold and black on the second. You do the most interesting mixed media creations and your trio of feathers with the blue dripping in the background and lovely gold spattering and the crackle paste, and then the triple embossing and textural stencilling in the background on the second card..lush is the only word for it. So pleased that you have managed to shift that flu bug, there is so much of it about at the moment. Take care. x
