Today's Card.....
I started with scraping heavy white gesso through the pretty Ryn flower stencil.
The background was then blended with several different colours
of distress inks, after the gesso had fully dried.
The distress inks where wiped off the flower, leaving a ghosting effect.
I hi-lighted the flower with a white ink pen and splattered pink, black
and gold splats over the card.
The Love sentiment has been die cut and popped up onto foam.
I had fun with this card.
Thank you so much for stopping by.

Oh Mac is beautiful!! I've never tried that before ... Gesso through a stencil... Te result is beautiful and I adore your BG ... Have a wonderful crafty day!
That is a lovely lovely look with the gesso. I don't think you could get that exact look any other way I can think of. I need to remember to look for the heavy gesso when I am shopping. I am pretty sure the regular wouldn't work as well. Do you think any of the embossing pastes would work?
Lovely background too, tfs!
Fab beautiful look with the flower and the gesso,Mac.Love the beautiful colours and the sentiment.
Gr,Sylvia.
WOW! That card looks amazing!!!! My Gesso is runny and seeps under the stencil :( - I guess there must be different types? The splatters are awesome here - they give your card this artsy look!
Beautiful card, love the effect on the flower, Cara x

Yes embossing paste would work great too. All the mediums create different effects, resists etc and just when I think I don't need another one I do! I find heavy gesso great for resist and 'white' work X thank you so much for stopping by X
Great color combination. Very summer, like fruit sorbets in one bowl ... for a loved one with love words :-)
And this beautiful hibiscus ... white, melting, as if made of fog. You are genius!!
Unfortunately I'm not sure of translating from Polish into English: - ((

STUNNING card, Mac! I have not used gesso through a stencil, but need to give it a try. Your technique turned out beautifully. What a pretty flower! Love the bright, vibrant blended background. The splatters are just the perfect finishing touch along with your die-cut sentiment. xx
