Check Mate.....

One Layer Card Today.....
Less is More Challenge this week is a One Layer Challenge
with a theme of Opposite Attracts....
My thinking......
Black is Opposite to White....
Tied this in with the game of Chess
And then
The Attracts part...The Queen and King
'Check Mate'
After water colouring the background and stamping
and embossing the King and Queen the fun started...

If this hadn't been a one layer challenge the die cut 'Love'
would have been stuck on.
So...I used the die cut as a stencil...
lets just say that some die cuts work well as a stencil and some don't....

I could have stopped at this stage, changed my idea or even stamped the word 'Love'
No...I was going to run with my idea.
I finished by using a 'chess' board design stencil and made it look like Washi tape.

Thanks for finding time to stop by...Always very much appreciated.

You are so clever with your "opposite" meanings!! Love the contemporary design with the glittery heart which really pops on your card too! Such a fun idea and I love it! :) HUGS

This is really creative and a clever take on our "opposites" challenge - you put a lot of thought into it! The "love" was worth persevering with as it looks great, but the faux washi tape has absolutely blown me away - it looks real! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Less is More :)

A wonderfully executed idea and a splendid card! The design is really CAS yet there is so much interest in it. I adore what you did with the die cut 'stencil' and it was so worth persevering with. You have inspired me to have a go at that too. Thank you so much for sharing this with us at Less is More xx
