So Blessed.....

Today's card.....
Update......Thrilled that my card has won over at The Craft Stamper-Make It Take It Challenge.
And an Honourable Mention at Rubber Dance.
Thank you so very much x
I had a fun day today trying out different techniques.
I first stamped the leaves and flowers with thick white gesso.
This gave a gorgeous chalky feel to the card.
I then used several shades of grey distress inks to blend over the gesso stamping for the background.
I wiped the distress inks off the gesso, which left an off white colour, which is what I wanted.
I then over stamped, off setting the leaves and flowers with two shades of archival grey inks.
A few of the stamped rain drops have glossy accents on them.
I finished with die cutting a stitched square
and adding the sentiment, stamped in dark grey archival ink.
I have had a lovely time away this past week visiting family and having a fabulous time x
Thank you so much for stopping by.
Crafty Hugs x

WOW WOW WOW!! Mac, this design is absolutely gorgeous!! I love how you've used the paint for your leaves and the depth and shading you've achieved with your inks over it! The water drops really add even more dimension on here! Thanks for sharing this really stunning design today! Glad you enjoyed time with your family! :) HUGS

You'll have to forgive me Mac as I thought I had already left a comment on this post. We'll call it an age thing and leave it at that! ;) The two words that first spring to mind are 'Wow' and 'Amazing.' What a fabulous piece of art. I love the gentle blending of the background and the different colours that you've used that all work together perfectly. The leaves are stunning and look like they're jumping off the page. It's going to be a very lucky friend who receives this card, I'll have to let you know when my birthday is ;) Seriously, I love this card Mac. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday evening. Sandra x

Fantastic card, Mac!! What a great idea to stamp with gesso first and then on top of that! The result is awesome!! Lovely way to colour the background, too. Thank you for joining our challenge's 2nd anniversary at Rubber Dance ♥

What a stunning card you are showing here.
Beautiful leaves in grey/browntones, they are gorgeous!
I immediately became a follower of your blog, because I saw so many beautiful things you made!
In answer to your question on my blog I replied already, that it's okay with me, that you are following this technique in your own way.
I am curious what you are making out of it??

I love this card !!! WOW! Gray background give the impression of autumn mist, and monochrome colors suggests that thing happens at dawn, when the colors are not too differentiated because of the small amount of light. It's very beautiful card and admire your technique. All very cleverly done.
Thank you for this extraordinary inspiration.
hugs,
