I had fun yesterday playing with modelling and embossing pastes.
Here is my card
I blended blue distress inks through the flower stencil
and then used semi opaque, white modelling paste over the top.
The blues from the distress inks reactivated with the paste
and produced a really pretty milky effect..
After it had dried I put on a little more paste on the edges to get the white back a little.
The butterflies and sentiment have been stamped with Dark Blue archival ink.
The card has been lightly splattered with the same blue distress ink from the flower
and finished off with three sequins to match.
All on one layer with minimum embellishments.

Wonderful technique....your flowers are gorgeous! Lovely card! Thanks for joining us at Just Us Girls.
That's absolutely gorgeous Mac, I love what you've done with the flowers. I don't have any embossing pastes myself but the do achieve some amazing results, and your card is proof of that. The gentle blues contrast beautifully against the dark blue, I love it. x
This is so pretty with your blue tone colors!! Love what you've done with the embossing paste!! Thanks for sharing! HUGS
Always so generous with your comments, thank you very much x Well done on breaking out those fairy stamps x
That is so kind, always appreciate your comments x
Thank you for your very positive comments x
Thank you for the lovely comments that you've left on my blog. I've just remembered what a Misti is and I would like one too but they are quite expensive. I use Versafine Back Onyx ink to get the best black impression. It always stamps so clearly but you do have to give it time to dry as it is prone to smudging. Hope this helps and I look forward to seeing your fairy stamping ;) X.
Always a pleasure dipping into your blog x Yes the misti is expensive and hard to get too! Thanks for the tip on the black onyx versafine, I'll give it a go. Thank you for your advice and help x
This technique has produced beautiful flowers! The blending is gorgeous. Love the added splatters and sequins, too. Thanks for playing with us at JUGS!
