Olympic Mobile....

Today's project was inspired by The Male Room challenge - Olympics/Sports
I'll show you the photos first......
I have made an Olympic Masculine Mobile....
A Dream Catcher.....
I have used gold, silver and gold along with the Olympic colour rings.
I have paired up the Male sports with the colour of the medal that some of the
UK Olympians have won.
Silver in Swimming and Canoeing, Bronze in the all round gymnastics.....
Gold in Rowing and Cycling.....
I have used stencils in a round (medal) theme throughout onto the vellum using
gel and glitter in gold, silver or bronze.
I have die cut the feathers using the five colours of the Olympic rings.
I over stamped them with a feather stamp using co-ordinating colours of starlight paints.
Wow these paints are sparkly.
The tips of the feathers have been further embellished with glitter and gel in gold, silver or bronze.
The coloured Olympic circles have been die cut and the centers from vellum.
The vellum has given a really lovely silhouette effect.
The underneath has been done with a circle stencil and gold, silver and bronze gel glitter.
I attached the feathers using wire to continue the masculine theme.
The green leaves have been die cut and attached around the circle to represent the Olive Wreaths.
I had fun making the mobile and my DREAM catcher.
Sorry about the photo over load but it was really hard to photo.
Thank you so much for stopping by.

Sending Hugs..

Bistre Powders, Glitter and Metal....
Update.....CAS Mix Up Challenge-Pick of The Month...Ye Ha, Thank you so much x
Today's card....
I started by die cutting the loop/circle die and used this as a stencil.
I made sure my base card was completely covered and popped the die into the negative space.
I wanted to preserve the white space and working with the powders is always really messy.
I sprinkled the Bistre powders and sprayed with water to activate them.
I didn't want the inlay effect as I wanted the water and powders to work within the circles.
I die cut the circles again out of aluminium foil tape and coloured with copper alcohol ink.
The feathers have been die cut and one covered in double sided tape and glitter added.
The other one has been heat embossed with several layers of copper embossing powder and
stamped with blue paint at the top and Bistre's at the bottom.
The squares have been die cut with a stitched die twice.
I popped on copper glitter dots, a sentiment and three blue crystals to finish.

On hind site I should have just die cut and inlayed but I was trying for a more pooled effect
inside the circles. I think I could have done that better with water-colours and not the Bistre's.

My Bother-In-Law yesterday found out he was to be made redundant so I wanted to make
a masculine card but was mindful it was for his wife too.....They are a team x
So ....I thought brown and blue with a pop of glitter and shiny metal hit the mark?
Thank you so much for stopping by.

PS Bistre powders are more vintage in colour with hints of brown in them
as opposed to the Brusho's.
After popping on the liquid copper glitter dots they re-acted to the powders and made me chuckle...Learning all the time x

Colour Mixing.....

Fun day today making this project....
I started my project by...........
Sprinkling a few shades of brusho's over the poppy seed stencil and
activating them by scraping clear embossing paste over the stencil.
The background has been done using sprays and brusho's.
I have also stamped text and a gold frame around the edges using media stamps and gold ink.
The circles are stencils, white gesso and gold paint.
To achieve the the orange and green features I mixed pastes in a few shades, spread
over white gesso and a stencil.
I finished off with stamping the sentiment, popping it up onto foam and a few gold splats.
I loved the colours, the gold and how the red/orange poppy seeds worked out.
I had fun and got messy too.

Wedding ....

I have been working on a Wedding collection inspired
by
Here are the photo's...
I have used the gorgeous and pretty Magnolias For Her stamp set.
I used Zig pens for water-colouring and good quality water-colouring card throughout.
Some of the leaves have been done using card and some on vellum to add contrast.
The Invitation has been layered onto vellum, heat embossed
and coloured to add further dimension.
I loved the way Yana used layers in her inspiration fabulous card.
I was also inspired by the gold antique trims on the background of the card
so I stamped and heat embossed a flourish stamp in gold on the card
to represent this.
You can see this better on the wine tag.
I used a die cut to make the favour box and  heat embossed in gold around the sides and again on the name place card.
All finished off with sequins, tiny diamante's, splats
and yellow perfect pearls to pick up the yellow on the inspiration photo.
I had so much fun making this set.
I don't normally do a lot of fussy cutting and prefer to stamp and mask,
especially since I got the Misti, so it made a really lovely change
and I enjoyed the challenge.
Thank you so much for finding time to stop by.

Christmas in July....

I was inspired to make a one layer Christmas Card today
for the One Layer Challenge .... Christmas in July....
Here is my card....
Lots of masking and thinking about the layers but I got there in the end...
Lets just say this wasn't my first attempt!

Not as CAS as first envisaged but if you could see the red as white that may help.....
I die cut a tag and used this for a mask.
I then sprayed several different colours of reds and gold.....
Boy do these look rich and shiny in real life.
After stamping and embossing the lines, still with the mask on,
I had a fun time playing with colouring the tag.
I finished with stamping and embossing the bow on top of the tag and the sentiment.
The card held up well to all the water but I would use a heavier water colour card next time.
If it hadn't been a one layer challenge I would have just used the die cut tag,
but hey where's the fun in that?
Thank you so much for stopping by I really do appreciate it.

Explore....

Today's tag was inspired by .....
the theme of Travel at Art Journey...and Stamplorations - Mixed media challenge
I wanted to make the tag with a friends theme...
their travels, their journey, their exploring and their memories...
I have used distress inks, stencils and stamps on the background.
I have also stamped with white gesso and used clear embossing paste with a stencil.
I have used a white gel pen for hi-lighting
and heated copper frantage, which adds gorgeous texture and dimension.
Thank you for stopping by today,

I have changed back to Blogger today (from Google+), so that I am no longer a no-reply blogger...
however...... as a result I have lost my google+ followers.......
So I will see what tomorrow brings.....
Need to think about this!

Colouring on Kraft.......

Second post today.......Deadline approaching......
Having fun with Camp Create and the MFT Challenge
and another challenge for me is Colouring on Kraft......
I wanted to try a few different techniques whilst using the same stamps....
I don't have coloured pencils so I have used the mediums that I have......
Stamped and heat embossed the flowers in white EP.
Used a brush and white pigment ink for the first layer.
The flowers where coloured  using acrylic paints.
The Hello sentiment has been die cut and raised up onto foam.
Finished off with stripes of silver washi tape stuck to CS and trimmed,
flicked with white ink and doodling around the edges.
I liked how artsy the white pigment 'played' with the acrylic paints....
Stamped with black archival ink.
Used a brush and white pigment ink for the first layer.
The flowers where coloured  using Zig water-colour pens.
The Happy sentiment has been die cut and raised up onto foam.
Finished off with stripes of silver washi tape and flicked with black ink.
I wanted to see if I could use water-colours on Kraft
and by using the white pigment ink first it worked...
Stamped and heat embossed with clear EP.
Used a brush and white pigment ink for the first layer.
The flowers where coloured  using acrylic paints and Zigs.
The Thanks sentiment has been die cut and raised up onto foam.
Finished off with stripes of gold washi tape,
dotting/doodling with a white gel pen on the flowers and a gold pen in the corners.
Interesting effects with pigment, Zigs and acrylics.
I will be trying coloured pencils next....'when' I get them!
Sorry the post is so long today.......
I have enjoyed participating in the MFT Camp Create Challenge and for me this is the final card...
This is a photo of the 5 cards for the challenge...

I am also entering the CAS Mix Up Challenge and The Paper Players CAS/Watercolor challenge..
with today's kraft card......

Thank you so much for stopping by.
