More Glitter and Feathers....

Today's' card has been inspired by The Paper Artsy Challenge - Glitter
I have got so much glitter around my study,
after yesterdays tag that I thought I would keep going....
They have such inspirational blog posts, for many different ways of using glitter...
I was inspired from the introduction post of the glorious feathers
Messy but a fun way to add glitter to those fabulous real feathers.
Another inspirational post was from Raquel Burillo   (photo below)
and the many ways of applying glitter.
I have used dry glitter rubbed onto double sided tape
and a line of stickles on the left of the card, which I haven't used in years.
The real feathers have been painted with starlight topaz paint.
Such a glorious colour of Mica, gold, brown and topaz...stunning in real life.

My intention was to paint the middle feather on the card
and then pull it off gently and use as a sort of stencil/mask....
The feather was having none of it and stuck fast!!!
Who knew the feather would stick so well without glue?
I applied the dry, sand coloured glitter on the left hand feather with wet glue.
Finishing off with a stamped sentiment in gold heat embossing and brown ink.

More glorious glittery mess around my studio.....
I really don't know why I don't use glitter more often, as in real life it is so very pretty.....maybe I'll use the dry glitter sparingly....
but all the other ways of adding glitter I'm in!!!

Thank you for finding time to stop by...
I wanted to say a Big Thank you for all the very kind
and very generous comments you continue to leave me...

Glitter and some....

I am not a fan of dry glitter, too messy for me
but the Paper Artsy Challenge this fortnight is glitter,
so I made this tag to celebrate lots of different types of glitter.
The blog has amazing and very creative projects, using all types of glitter.
One in particular that inspired me was Raquel Burillo and her many uses...
I had forgotten about glass glitter, Frantage glitter and stickles.
I have used all of these on the tag along with glue and dry glitter.
I have also used sprays, paste, stencilling and stamping for the background
and die cutting for the sentiment with heat embossing.
The three feathers are real......Found on my walks.
These have been painted with mica and topaz paint, liquid gold leaf
and glue with dry taupe coloured glitter.
For the edges of the ribbon I have used glitter gel.

So messy, such fun, over the top and so blingy.....
The photos do not show the pretty colours of the paint, the mica or the glitter.
In real life the colours are topaz, brown, sand/taupe and a few shades of gold.
Every time I take a photo they look different and not true colours.
Now my dry glitter is out
I might as well continue with the mess and fun........
Thank you so much for finding time to stop by.
I really do appreciate it.

Sorry I Forgot

I was inspired by a couple of cards to make today's card.....
I stamped the cute elephants in a 'Row', popped on some wink of Stella and then glossy accents.
I loved how they turned out as they looked like the colour of elephants
without having to colour them!
I stamped the small flower on the front and the last elephant.
The strip at the bottom has been done with stencils, ink blending and stamping.
The white background has been stamped with a rain/tear stamp
and lightly hi-lighted with white mica powder to preserve the white space.
I finished off with stamping the sentiment.
I wanted the scale of the card to be large against the small elephants to show I was really sorry...
Thanks for stopping by.

Happy..........

My Third Challenge......
Create a card incorporating Coral, Lime/chartreuse and aqua/light turquoise
I have made two cards, trying out different techniques...
I sprayed CS with the required colours for the challenge.
I randomly tore two of them and used my Multifaceted cutaway die for the third one.
I layered the Coral and Lime card, tore the die cut Aqua one and attached it to the Lime one.
I also used the die cut again as I wanted three Coral shapes to pop into the blue die cut die shape.
I sprayed CS with Aqua and Lime and die cut the 'Happy' sentiment, finishing off with a few sequins.
Grungy feel to the card with modern colours.

 My Second Card.......
I used the same colour sprays again for the background card.
I popped on the Multifaceted creative screen stencil and lightly sponged on pigment ink.
However, this was too pale so I used a diluted white gesso with water,
sponged over the pigment ink, which worked really well.
The white gesso is matt against the shimmer of the mica sprays underneath,
which hi-lighted the pattern on the stencil much better.
I used a sprayed CS for the 'Happy' sentiment and stamped
and layered the 'birthday' sentiment in coral.
I finished the card with layered up pieces of the die cut under the Birthday sentiment.
I enjoyed doing this technique and had a fun and messy time again!

Technique.....

Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge is Favourite Technique...
I have lots of favourites but at the moment I enjoy sprays with Mica in them,
mixing mica to colour with and glossy accents for super shine.
This is my Favourite technique CAS Card......
After stamping the leaves stamp from Ryn, I coloured them in
using a few shades of Mica mixed with water and finished them off with glossy accents on top.
The centre square has been sprayed with several colours of Mica sprays and raised up on foam.
The edges have been embossed with gold EP.
The sentiment has been stamped and embossed and three diamante's added to finish.

Although this is a CAS card I am also entering The Happy Little Stampers MM challenge.
Sprays, embossing, stamping, colouring and mica.

More Than One Fold

Today's card........
This is my card for.... Card4Guyz Guest Designer for this week
The challenge is More Thank One Fold.
I hadn't realised but I hadn't made a card that had more than one fold in it before!

The CS has been sprayed with three different shades of purples, two with mica in them.
I used black embossing paste, through a stencil for the film strip to add texture.
For the birthday sentiment I stenciled through individual letters with purple distress ink
and hi-lighted with a white pen.
I added Gold...Inka Gold to some of the black raised embossing paste text
and some of the hardware.
The Inka gold covered the metal really well.
The edges where finished with black distress ink.
I scored and folded the card and was really pleased that the embossing paste did not crack!

I am entering the card into the following challenges.......
City Crafter Challenge-Dye It...create a card or project using dies, stencils, inks, paints...Anything you want but No stamping and No DP

I used eyelets, wire, screw head, metal beads and findings...Inka Gold, Mica and Starlight Paints.

Tired Bear......

I have been inspired by two challenges to make this card.
I stamped the bear in black ink onto linen card.
I embossed/gilded the edges with gold embossing powder.
The crown has been gold embossed and mica added with a brush.
I tried to use gilding flakes but the crown was too small to make it look effective.
I have gilded underneath the bear with White Frantage shabby embossing enamel.
I do so love Frantage enamels, they give texture and 'surprise' results.
I am entering the card into the following challenges.....
CAS card with gilding

Updated.........thrilled to be chosen as The Winner for The So Suzy Challenge
with this card...Thank you so much xx
This is today's card
I masked off the strip and blended distress inks in Autumnal colours.
The sentiment is stamped and embossed.
I used So Suzy Stamps ....Blowing Leaves and embossed in black.
I used very diluted bleach to gentle take the colour out of the leaves
and using a paintbrush coloured them with gold Mica.
Great inspiration from the three challenges x

Autumn

             Autumn.....One Layer
Update...Absolutely delighted to have been Hi-Lighted at
One Layer Simplicity Challenge for this card...Thank you so very much xxx
One layer cards are a challenge in itself and Autumn ones I think are tricky.
I see Autumn as beautiful autumnal colours, leaves and trees.
I see them as 3D and not flat so this was my challenge.
I tried to do something similar from this inspiration

I used a clearly besotted leaf stamp for mine.
I blended distress inks, flicked water and tried (badly) to do splatters.
I wanted to leave white around the leaf but not quite so contrived as the one I've got!
That was because I had to keep mopping up my 'bad' splatting!
I used gold mica to hi-light the leaf and to do some of the splats.

I enjoyed trying the new technique (to me) from the inspiration link above.
I didn't realise you could use distress stains to stamp with.
I have used ink pads and the markers before
but always thought the stains to be too runny, so a lesson learnt.

Autumn Days

        Autumn Splendour....
What a beautiful and colourful time of the year....
Every-time I look out of my window the trees are changing colours.
I made the card inspired by the Autumn Colours
and the last Rays of Sunshine.
Even though it's gone cold and the leaves are falling,
the sun is still trying hard to shine.
The Mica Mega Flakes on the right hand side of the card
is to represent the Suns Rays.

I made only one card and took photos before adding the die cut leaves
and then took more photos after I'd popped them on...
but I didn't like how they came out...
I have tried and tried, so put the both photos on..

The background is blended with distress inks
and mica powder on top for shine.
The tree has been stamped twice and the leaves tumbling from another tree stamp.
I have stamped a script stamp, hi-lighting some with gold embossing.
The clouds have also been stamped and hi-lighted with a brush and mica.
I stamped the sentiment and cut it into individual strips,
edged in gold EP and mounted on foam.
I have edged the main card with gold EP
and the black card to give faux layers.
I used a dipping pen and white calligraphy ink to hi-light the birds and the text.
I am entering the following challenges
All stamps are IndigoBlu

Autumn

                                  Celebrate.....
Here's today's card using the theme of Autumn
and a masculine card.
Update.....Honoured and thrilled to achieve an honourable mention for this card
at The Male Room....Thank you very much.
The challenge at The Male Room inspired me to make the card.
The background has been water coloured using distress inks
and hi-lighted with Mica.
I have stamped the trees in brown archival an embossed with clear EP.
To make the wood frame I have used a stencil and embossing paste.
The wood has been sprayed with several colours and also a Mica spray.
I used a die cut for the aperture.
The sentiment letters have been die cut several times
and built it up so it looks like 'wood'.
The mini maple leaves have been die cut and sprayed with mica sprays.
The gold leaf has been stamped onto vellum and heat embossed with gold EP.
Maybe you can see a little of the Mica and the 3D 'Wood' in this photo?

CAS-Fall Scene

                   Fall Has Arrived.....
This is my card.....a Fall Scene
I am entering my card into the following challenges.....
The Paper Players-Clean and Simple...Create A Fall Scene
I wanted to create a CAS card which was a 'Fall Scene'
from the Paper Players Challenge.
I die cut The Poppystamps Die called Maple Leaf
and used this as a stencil/Mask as a basis for my 'scene'.

The following elements have been taken from
the City Crafter Photo inspiration Challenge.
The hills, birds, sun and fallen leaves
The colour 'red' has been incorporated into the fallen leaves and
the colour 'yellow' into the sun.

The mini 'scene' was blended with distress inks.
I used a stamp for the trees, sentiment and the birds.
I hi-lighted the 'scene' with small amounts of Gold Mica
to give that extra colour that this time of year brings.
I've kept the layers and embellishments to a minimum for a CAS card
and loved taking time out to sit and produce this mini scene card.

Greetings

        CAS(E) this sketch
I was inspired by the following three challenges
to make my card
I sprayed water colour card with Lindy's Stamp gang sprays,
with mica in them and then used the 'Maple Leaf'  die
from Poppystamps to cut out the leaf.
The die cuts with an outline so I also die cut
a piece of gold card to use as the outline.
I popped hessian at the back of the leaf and twine.
The small maple leaves have been stamped
using distress markers in three colours
and represent the three small dots in the sketch.
The mica in the sprays are so pretty.
I have entered the Poppy stamps challenge three times
but hopefully they are all very different?
I am loving these dies and its that time of year to use them!
