Explore....

Today's tag was inspired by .....
the theme of Travel at Art Journey...and Stamplorations - Mixed media challenge
I wanted to make the tag with a friends theme...
their travels, their journey, their exploring and their memories...
I have used distress inks, stencils and stamps on the background.
I have also stamped with white gesso and used clear embossing paste with a stencil.
I have used a white gel pen for hi-lighting
and heated copper frantage, which adds gorgeous texture and dimension.
Thank you for stopping by today,

I have changed back to Blogger today (from Google+), so that I am no longer a no-reply blogger...
however...... as a result I have lost my google+ followers.......
So I will see what tomorrow brings.....
Need to think about this!

Technique......

One Layer and Technique...
Update...I was lucky enough to be Hi-Lighted over at One Layer Challenge for this card.
Thank you so much, I am delighted and thrilled x
Today's card is on one Layer using the faux bleach/Ghosting technique.
The background has been blended with several different colours of distress inks.
After popping the stencil on I lightly sprayed water
and blotted off the excess to produce the ghost flower image.
I popped the stencil back on and did some more blending
to achieve the look I was after in some pats.
I finished off with stamping the sentiment in black ink and flicking
splats in gold paint...although I am never sure if these show up in the photos x
Thanks for stopping by...

Sympathy...........

Today's card didn't start off being a Sympathy card but.....
I was inspired by the image over at Pinterest
I loved the colours and the way the feathers where floating in the background.
I used the colours as my inspiration and the feather stencil from Stamplorations.
I first blended distress inks through the stencil, then popped on white embossing paste
and whilst it was still wet added micro beads.
These beads give such a pretty shine, texture and dimension.
It was at this stage I thought it might be a sympathy card as the colours muted,
because of the white paste and I loved how it was looking.
I masked off a rectangle and lightly blended blue distress ink.
I stamped a rain falling stamp with versamark and lightly dusted perfect pearls powders
over it to give a subtle shine.
I thought this represented the feathers in the background on the inspiration photo.
The sentiment was stamped in grey distress ink and three pearls added to finish.
I also did a card in clear embossing paste with white stamping and doodling,
which produced a much brighter colour-way.
It was this card I thought I would be using when I started.
However I preferred the muted one and went with the sympathy card idea.
Lets hope I don't need to send it for a very long time x

Fantastic Plastic.....

Here's another card for today...................
Update...Spotlight Artist with this card..
Thank you very much, absolutely delighted and thrilled x
After masking the background I blended with several colours of distress inks.
I popped on a stencil and dabbed water through it,
to give the water effect of the white flowers behind.
I stamped a few flower stems with black archival ink.
I had fun with stamping flowers onto shrink plastic.
I experimented lots!
I had hoped to achieve a clear effect with the flowers but my shrink plastic was translucent
and not clear! I had thought translucent was clear...it appears not!
I stamped the sentiment onto black card and heat embossed with gold glitter.
I finished off with gold glitter glue around the edge of the blended background.
Had fun with this one.

A Wish......

I've had these gorgeous stamps in my stash for awhile, so decided to use them today...
This is the card I made with them
I restricted my colour palette and used distress inks for the outer blending and Brusho's
and gold embossing for the flower.
All the black ink has been embossed with clear embossing powder.
I added a few splats with gold paint, sequins and seed beads to finish.

The stamps are by Stampinback.
I was inspired by their January challenge - A Wish
and
Rubber Dance January Challenge - Stamping-Black and White and Your Choice of 3rd Colour
This inspired me to use Black and White and my third colour of Deep Pink.
Lots of Stamping on my project.
and

I have gone with these New Stamps.
Great to use these stamps at last.

First Master Board

The inspiration to make my First Master Board came from Eileen's crafty Zone.
The videos are good and easy to follow.
However.... when I finished it I couldn't cut it up, so I made it into a canvas to keep.
I'll make some-more to cut up next week, as I really enjoyed making it.
I used White Gesso and embossing paste, with the stencils to provide a resist technique
and used distress inks for the colour.
There are quite a few layers of stenciling and stamping.
I hi-lighted the flowers with a white pen
and finished off with a gold pen and a few sequins.
I had a lot of fun and got messy and can't wait to make some-more.

Autumn Days

        Autumn Splendour....
What a beautiful and colourful time of the year....
Every-time I look out of my window the trees are changing colours.
I made the card inspired by the Autumn Colours
and the last Rays of Sunshine.
Even though it's gone cold and the leaves are falling,
the sun is still trying hard to shine.
The Mica Mega Flakes on the right hand side of the card
is to represent the Suns Rays.

I made only one card and took photos before adding the die cut leaves
and then took more photos after I'd popped them on...
but I didn't like how they came out...
I have tried and tried, so put the both photos on..

The background is blended with distress inks
and mica powder on top for shine.
The tree has been stamped twice and the leaves tumbling from another tree stamp.
I have stamped a script stamp, hi-lighting some with gold embossing.
The clouds have also been stamped and hi-lighted with a brush and mica.
I stamped the sentiment and cut it into individual strips,
edged in gold EP and mounted on foam.
I have edged the main card with gold EP
and the black card to give faux layers.
I used a dipping pen and white calligraphy ink to hi-light the birds and the text.
I am entering the following challenges
All stamps are IndigoBlu

CAS-Fall Scene

                   Fall Has Arrived.....
This is my card.....a Fall Scene
I am entering my card into the following challenges.....
The Paper Players-Clean and Simple...Create A Fall Scene
I wanted to create a CAS card which was a 'Fall Scene'
from the Paper Players Challenge.
I die cut The Poppystamps Die called Maple Leaf
and used this as a stencil/Mask as a basis for my 'scene'.

The following elements have been taken from
the City Crafter Photo inspiration Challenge.
The hills, birds, sun and fallen leaves
The colour 'red' has been incorporated into the fallen leaves and
the colour 'yellow' into the sun.

The mini 'scene' was blended with distress inks.
I used a stamp for the trees, sentiment and the birds.
I hi-lighted the 'scene' with small amounts of Gold Mica
to give that extra colour that this time of year brings.
I've kept the layers and embellishments to a minimum for a CAS card
and loved taking time out to sit and produce this mini scene card.

Inspiration piece for IndigoBlu

               The Voice of The Sea
After being chosen as a top 3 at IndigoBlu for their last challenge
I was asked to do an Inspiration Piece for their
I am thrilled to be asked.
So here it is..........
I masked off the background panel and blended the background
with distress inks, stenciling, clear 3D paste and white hi-lighter pen.

The fish and seahorse stamps have been coloured with
distress inks, glitter and white ink.

The shells at the bottom have been embossed with white EP.
The Blue sea scroll on the left has been stamped with archival ink
and hi-lighted with Blue Mica.
The green grass at the bottom was cut to leave a space just below the 'Frame'
to emphasis it a little more and the sentiment embossed with white EP.
The 'Frame' was die cut and mounted to give some dimension.

All the stamps are from IndigoBlu - 'Under The Sea' set.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to do
an Inspirational piece for your challenge, I really enjoyed it and hope you like it?
I am also entering the challenge at

Sending a little something

      Newsprint
I had the idea of Sending a Little Parcel wrapped in Newsprint
so I was inspired by the Challenge to make this card.
I found a suitable news article and made a mini parcel out of the Newsprint.
I distressed it a little with Distress inks.
I sprayed the background with a Lindy's stamp gang spray.
The spray is a mid-brown and has a silver shine to it (at certain angles).
I had to make and print the sentiment from my computer
as I didn't have one suitable that referred to the word 'Sending'.
After finishing the card I thought of a couple more recipients,
later on in the year that I will be 'Sending' a little something too
so made a couple more!
The darker blobs on the cards is where it looks silver, in certain light
and really does add another dimension to the card.
I Enjoyed making these fun cards.

I Need My Space

                           The Beach
I am delighted and thrilled to be 'A Cut Above'
at The Paper Players with this card-Thank you!
I was inspired by Three Challenges to make this Masculine card
I masked around the white card to emphasis the 'Space'
The sky has been done using Distress inks and blending
I stamped the clouds - Indigo Blu and embossed them in white
The sea has been water coloured using Distress Inks through a Zebra Stencil
The sand is modelling paste, coloured with acrylic paint and
micro beads added to add texture and to look like sand
The Hut has been stamped - docrafts stamp and embossed in white
I rendered the hut using distress markers and watercolouring
The sentiment has been stamped using mini individual letters
The shells have been stamped and
the starfish has been embossed in gold
but you can't see this in the photo unfortunately
I popped on red line tape around the edge and embossed in gold
and finished off by blending distress inks around the edge

I have included the following photo to show why I had to start again!!
I did try to de-tack my masking tape before I used it
but clearly not enough and it spoilt the edges as I peeled it off!
I used quite a few techniques on this card and really enjoyed Making it
What a lovely Mood board over at City Crafter Challenge
I saw the Beach Hut as 'The Man Shed' for The Male Room Challenge
All three of the challenges inspired me to make the card x
