Beautiful Spring

Today's post is a mixed media hanger to celebrate Spring......
The background has been created using the Natural colour of Bistre powders,
mixed media stamping, crackle glaze
and my favourite 'weed and foliage' stamp set by Rubber Dance.
After pushing out the cardboard egg shape chippie in the centre of the eggs
I used the left over shape as a stencil.
I lightly coloured the embossing paste with blue Bistre powder   and scraped it through.
Pieces of twigs and feathers where found around my garden.
The twigs, twine and die cuts where hi-lighted with white and gold.
The eggs where splattered with brown paint and covered with some crackle glaze.
I finished with some gold splats, gold hi-lighting around the edges, attaching the twine at the top
and stamping the wonderful sentiment by Alison Bomber
who inspires me greatly with her mixed media magic x
Leaving the stamp in the Misti allowed me to stamp the sentiment at the beginning and at the end.

Happy Easter and Happy Spring to all my wonderful blog friends x
Challenges I would love to enter
Hope the hint of blue, which I knocked back with some brown is OK?

CAS Mix Up April Reminder

Time for a reminder of The CAS Mix Up Challenge this month,
which is Layered stamping, with heat embossing hosted by Susan.
There are video links on the blog in case this technique is new to you...

This is my card......

I have used layered stamping with heat embossing powders, Stamping, die cutting and Fussy Cutting.

After stamp layering and heat embossing several different colours of embossing powders I fussy cut the tulips and leaves and popped them onto the card at different heights.
The stems have been stamped and heat embossed directly onto the card.
I finished off with heat embossing gold at the bottom and also the sentiment.
I also made a Tag to join in The Stamplorations - Tagplorations challenge,
which is all about re-cycling........
As a technique girl I always have many attempts that I put in a box for future use,
which rarely get used.
So this time I was determined to re-cycle one of the tulips and made a tag straight away.
The card, tissue and string are from re-cycled packaging.
The option was to use tissue.....
I have used a crackle stamp and a couple of colours of embossing powders on the first layer.
Next..... the crumpled tissue and hi-lights in gold.
I used the full sentiment this time, which is by Uniko.
Hopefully this photo shows the glorious shimmer from the Lindy powders and the Frantage.
Thank you Susan for introducing me to a new technique x.

Spring is in the air......

I have had fun using stencils, paste and heated enamel...
Here is today's card.....
I coloured embossing paste with grey acrylic paint and popped it through the tree stencil.
Whilst the paste was still wet I sprinkled shabby pink embossing enamel on and heated it.
I die cut the bunnies and then used them as a stencil and used the same technique.
Finishing off with a stamped sentiment and a cute little pink heart x.
I love using stencils with embossing pastes as this adds wonderful dimension.
Whilst my mediums where out I made a second card.....
I used a couple of different colours of liquid pearls on it first and then the shabby pink enamel.
This gave my blossom even more texture, colour and dimension.
Detail of first card......
Detail of second card.....
I so enjoyed using the paste, the stencils, the liquid pearls and the enamel....

CAS Mix Up Challenge for April....

The CAS Mix Up  Challenge for April is ....
Layered Stamping with Heat Embossing.......Hosted by Susan...
Video link's and inspiration over on the blog....
We have the creative and very talented BozenA from Art Card Box
joining us this month as our guest designer......

This is My Card........

Using the technique, stamping and my choice is die cutting.....

I found using a stamping platform very useful for this technique.
I had never used a layering stamp before
and I found layering with embossing powders a challenge......
Using glitter embossing powders caused it's own problems
and using a full solid stamping layer a challenge all on it's own.....
Everything just melted into one....but I persevered and several versions later I got there.
The 'full' base layer has been stamped and heat embossed
with the pretty pink glitter embossing powder.
The next layer with the deeper pink, Lindy powders
and the line stamping with silver embossing powders.
The leaves have been stamped with several shades of green and not embossed....Only the silver veins.
Finishing off with a double layer of the die cut sentiment
and stamping the line stamp of the butterfly, water colouring and using a chrome pen.

A real challenge for me and of course I could have done this in so many different ways and choosing different powders and layering stamps...but hey where is the fun in that?
Thank you Susan for this challenge and taking me out of my comfort zone x.
It's also a good way to use your unused coloured embossing powders....

I always look forward to being amazed by your creations in the gallery but even more
so this month, so that I can be inspired and learn from you x.
You can see in this photo how the powders kept melting into each other...
The silver powder kept attaching itself to the lumpy pink glitter......
After popping on clear powder on top this made the melting worse....
Yay to keeping going.....x.

Challenges I would love to enter.....

I have gone with the diagonal line.....Die Cut + Embossing (heat) + Floral
