When is a Tree not a Tree...

The Twofer Challenge this month is Trees....

You are to make two different cards using the same stamp or die for two different occasions.

These are my cards.....

I used a tree die for both cards.
One is a Thank you card and the other Just a Note....

The first card is made from an alcohol inked background,
in shades of greens and browns to represent 'Trees and the Forest'
I did a little manipulation of the die cut tree .......
One of them is in gold and the other in the alcohol inked background.
Some of the fall-outs are in gold and the others in the original background.
I finished off with stamping the sentiment in gold and then white to give a little 3D effect.
The layout of the second card was inspired by the sketch over at CAS(E) the sketch...
The card uses the same die cut tree, cut four times and made into a bow.
I have had the embossing borders for ever and never used them,
so I started by dry embossing with one of them on the black card stock.
I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in gold and
finished off by popping on the gold bow.

I had fun with both of these cards and thinking out of the box a little.
Thank you so much for stopping by, I really do appreciate it.

These are the embossing borders.........
The Challenge I would like to enter both my my cards into......

Peace......

Today's card is a Masculine Christmas Card...

This is my first Christmas card of the year,
inspired by the CAS Christmas Card Challenge, which is Masculine....
I used a stencil for the Stag's head, inked through it and then fussy cut it,
as I don't have the die cut.
I layered and heated a few lime/citron embossing powders and clear UTEE for the Stag.

The background was done using the tissue technique and spraying with black
and then hi-lighting the texture with liquid gold leaf...
The die cut sentiment and the snowflakes have also been achieved
by layering many different embossing powders and heating.
I have used a die cut square to frame the elements and edged in liquid gold leaf to finish.
I am now obsessed with layering embossing powders
and using my pancake maker for constant heat.
It's so much fun and the results are super shiny and unique
and a great way to use up all my stashed away embossing powders....

CAS Mix Up June Reminder Post

Time for the reminder post for The CAS Mix UP June Challenge,
which is Embossing Layering, Stamping and your choice....
My choice is Die Cutting.
The link below is where I got my inspiration from......

There are more inspirational videos and links on the ....
CAS Mix Up Challenge Blog....

Today's Card......

I used my pancake maker for consent heat
and a rectangle piece of grey board, popped on top of a craft mat.

I layered up lots of different colours of embossing powders, some from Lindy's,
which have a wonderful shine to them.
It's a great way to use up my stash of powders....
I also used Frantage and a toothpick to get the look of the waves and clouds.
Once I was happy with the many layers of embossing powders I quickly pulled off the molten powders and stamped into them using a text stamp, giving some texture to the beach area.

I die cut the Coastal Tree several times, sprayed with a shine spray
and finished with the sentiment stamped in brown.

I left some of the embossing powders, on the beach area flow off the grey board.
I loved the way the text stamping added some texture at the bottom.

I have found this technique of layering of embossing powders highly addictive
and there are so many ways to do this.
Thank you Loll for the Fun Technique this month.

The Voice Of The Sea

I have been having fun, water colouring and layer embossing powders...

Here's Today's Card......

I started by masking off the water colour card and using several Lindy powders,
activated by water for the Ocean.
The bling from them is so pretty.
I then had lots of fun layering and heating embossing powders on a craft mat
and my pancake maker....This ensures the powders don't fly everywhere.
Once the molten powders where cold,
I gentle peeled off the bits to create the texture on my card.

This is a great way to use all those embossing powders that I have stashed away...
I used blingy powders, which created a wonderful and unique effect.
The ship and the sentiment have been stamped
and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
I finished off with water colouring the ship with shades of grey.

I had so much fun doing this card and as a technique girl learnt lots along the way.

The CAS Watercolour Challenge this month is Ocean and
The CAS Mix Up Challenge is layering of embossing powders
so I combined both of the challenges....my choice is water colouring
I would like to say a big Thank You to Loll

CAS Mix Up June Challenge

The CAS Mix Up Challenge for June is

Layered Embossing Powders

Hosted by Loll

There are lots of  fun techniques with tons of possibilities.

The design team and our fabulous guest designer Jane from The Purplejet Loves Crafts Blog
have wonderful inspiration for you over on the blog.
There are video links too...

This is My Card.....

Use any technique that layers embossing powders and keep your card CAS.
Include some stamping and your choice....My choice is heat embossing.

I used my electric pancake maker and a craft mat.
This gives constant heat and the powders don't fly everywhere.

I started with melting clear UTEE and then had fun layering lots of
different colours of embossing powders.
Some of them are Lindy's, which have a wonderful shine to them.
I used a cocktail stick to make some patterns and then very quickly pulled off the craft mat
and stamped into the molten powders with a leaf stamp that had gold ink on it.
I left the stamp in place until it cooled and carefully pulled it off.
I was really surprised how well the stamp had stamped and loved it!
Of course if you weren't happy then remelt it and start again.....
I have stamped part of the background card with light grey foliage.
The sentiment has been stamped in green ink and then half heat embossed in gold.
The solid embellishment easily came off the craft mat and I used 3D glue to mount onto the card.

Such a fun technique and I have loads of 'experimenting' to use for future cards.
Pop across to the blog and be inspired by the amazing team and Jane....our very talented Guest.
Thank you Loll for this fabulous theme for this months challenge...
