Pigment Powders

        Brusho's .....
They have provided videos, inspiration, techniques and information
from the 13th September, at the start of the challenge.
I have loved trying the techniques out, each and every one of them.
I have always wanted to do more with my Brusho's
and this has been great, it's sort of 'Made' me do it!
I am also entering The Mixed Media World Challenge-
Anything goes with Autumn Colours
I came up with this collage/project for the challenge
The background is Brusho's, Pigment Sprays and Mica.
One of the many things I have learnt on the PaperArtsy blog
is that the Brusho's are not permanent even after heat setting.

I used the Designs by Ryn Hibiscus stencil with Embossing paste and Gel.
I thought the transparent one would be what I was looking for
but it really did disappear so I used the more Opaque one
but even then it still took on a lot of the colour of the background.
I used the Brusho's to Water colour, blend
and to Hi-Light the Flowers, the leaves and the 'tall grass'.
I also used a white pen and Mica mixed with medium to hi-light some of the elements
I used the PaperArtsy EDY12 stamp set
and the Jofy 09 stamp set.
and the Designs by Ryn Hibiscus stencil.
Some of my many attempts during The Pigment topic Theme
I have loved learning about Brusho's from the PaperArtsy Challenge Blog

The reason I have written out my diary below
is that the Challenge asked you
to say which technique/topic you where inspired by.
I have to say I was inspired and tried them all!!!
13th Sep-Watched the very helpful videos
Tried the background with Brusho's, sprays and mica
and used one of them on my final project
14th Sep-Brusho and mixing with mediums
Tried the Brusho's with modeling paste and 3D Gel through a stencil
One is transparent and one white opaque so got very different and interesting results
Loved how it coloured the medium really well
Tried Brusho' with stencils, misting with water and then over-stamping them
16th Sep-Used the Brusho's with stamps
Learnt loads, very different results to how you use them
18th Sep-Be The Rainbow by Kay Carley
Just Loved this Inspiration Card
Use the link above-Take a look it is gorgeous
Just showed how versatile the pigments are and controllable, if you want them to be.
Loved the white embossing and keeping the Brusho's inside the embossed lines.
Loved the background and the light stamping over it and the use of the white pen.
20th Sep-Great tip about using damp  kitchen paper on the desktop
and around your work as the Brusho's get everywhere, however careful you are!
Tried the bleaching and stamping, great idea
21st Sep-Great CAS card. Tried Brusho's to water colour and blend.
Brusho's can be so unpredictable but also very controllable doing it this way
I used the idea on my final project
These are a few of my finished efforts so far...
Brusho's mixed with water and water colouring with a brush
Sprinkling dry Brusho's onto card and misting with water, also
wetting the card first and then sprinkling the Brusho's on
Using a couple of Brusho's, spraying with water, leaving them to do their magic,
blend together and using the card to die cut
Heavily wetting the flower, inside the embossed area,
sprinkling with Brusho's, gently moving them in the areas I wanted them
and leave alone to dry
Pigment Sprays with Mica
I am hoping to buy The Bistre's now to enhance my Brusho's.
So much to learn and loving it!
I am also linking the blog to Designs by Ryn Challenge
to show how I've used the beautiful Hibiscus stencil.
Thanks for stopping by this very long post today!
